Our weekend was a quiet one...and that was fine...we talked about the funny quirkiness of our moms...we read...and we watched the antics of the newly hatched baby geese. We watched the Boston marathon movie...which was sad but inspirational and really really good.
It was a Nuelasta weekend but thanks to pain meds it was ok...and right now I am sipping tea while I prep to work out. Thank God Nuelasta pain is predictable...a shot on Thursday but by Monday joint and muscle pain is gone...whew! One more to go! Yea, Patty! I can do this! I love cheering myself onward!
Books...
I just finished this and it was ok...a good ok...kept my interest...lots of food references...a totally dysfunctional family...perhaps too much dysfunction to be totally believable...but a good kind of book for a Nuelasta weekend.
New books! All from Edelweiss...all interesting...I love every cover!
Off to work out...more about the books later...
Have a great day!
Hugs,
Patty
Yesterday was sad for me because I was supposed to be with my mom for Mother's Day but Carl's dad is in the hospital so he had to go up there and I had to stay and help out at the store.
ReplyDeleteGeese nested in our neighborhood but I haven't seen any babies yet.
Oh no! Aging parents are always a worry...hopefully your mom was ok until you get there?
DeleteEach time you have a Neulasta weekend you seem to recover a little bit faster than the last time. This is good and I am glad you can work out a little today. Take it easy though.
ReplyDeleteMother's Day was weird for me. I had a really bad allergic reaction, my daughter's choir bus was in an accident on the way home from Disneyland Saturday night. She is okay but one girl on the bus ended up breaking her arm which was not discovered until the next day. It was a very nice day but a weird, recovery type of day because we were all wiped out.
Also weird to not call my mom on that day. You always talked of the orphan thing and I know exactly what you mean. Today I almost called in sick just to get a day of rest but nope, I am at work.
It's weird because until your mom is gone...you still feel grounded...without her...total orphan syndrome...the first Mother's Day is the rough one.
DeleteI'm glad you had a good weekend, and I also have Lies She Told...eager to read it, but it will be a while, since it won't be released until July.
ReplyDeleteI also want Emma in the Night, as I loved the author's book All Is Not Forgotten. Enjoy your day!
You are so good about waiting to read books...I sometimes just have to dive in right away!
DeleteHmm now I'm wondering about The Sunshine Sisters. I'll be reading it in the next few weeks. I was curious about the marathon movie. Glad you liked it! Keep feeling good :)
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely worth reading...so...don't let me stop you!
DeleteI get that orphan thing. Some never had a mother, but rather were supposed to be the mother of themselves and others...as a kid. Anyway...enough of that. Be well. Enjoy the weather and make merry.
ReplyDeleteI want to read some of those books!
I want to read those books, too!
DeleteHi Patty; you are always so sweet and kind to me. Mahalo nui loa. I'm glad to read you had a good weekend with Den. How fun to watch baby geese. I saw this little video where they were off to the pond but had to jump up to this high concrete; one little one had difficulty and peeped away. He kept tryin' though and eventually made it up. I hope you had a good workout.
ReplyDeleteI love being thought of as sweet and kind...I really try hard to be that way...my baby geese run to us for bread....they are so tiny and squeaky! I did have a great but exhausting workout...I can't do it again today.
