Home!!!

We are home and all together again...Lucy survived...actually I should say I survived... she has gone through her five stages of forgiving us...and she is sound asleep in my arms.

This is what we do!

Stage One...she runs away from us.
Stage Two...nonstop meowing to at and all around us.
Stage Three...she finally allows us to brush, croon, pet and humble ourselves to her.
Stage Four...we play chase all though the house and we play with her favorite toys.
Stage Five...she collapses on my pillow and is quiet and snugly.

Whew...we are exhausted! But really happy to be home!

Hmmm...

We spent part of yesterday with Den's 93 year old father at his assisted living residence. He has a small cozy apartment and he feels safe and happy there...he has short term memory issues which means he told us he has a lovely girl friend but he can't remember her name so he calls her "honey". Apparently "honey" is an author but I wasn't paying attention enough to find out what she wrote...I was reading...she is probably someone really famous and I missed out...she was totally fascinated by books on my iPad and said that her reading group just finished reading The Little Book by Seldon Edwards. I am going to find her today and have a little chat about her books, hopefully.

We were exhausted after our visit yesterday so we claimed the rest of the day as ours...
We went back to our inn...had one of these...or two...organic, of course...read for a while...



Went back down for dinner...Colorado Ruby Red Trout...yum...yum...yummy!
And a lovely glass of wine...
It was so nice to not get in a car!


And were back upstairs in time to watch Big Brother!

Reading this...which I will finish before we leave...so my away books read total is three...plus I will read one more on the plane...whew!
Am I too hard on me?



Can not wait even one more day to see her...

Hmmm...A Very Foodie Day!

Yesterday I ate a bite of Den's scone...for breakfast and an oh so good up of coffee from a place in Golden called Higher Grounds...love that name!
It's right across from our hotel. Den tosses on a ball cap and zips over for coffee! And on certain days there are homemade cinnamon rolls. Yum!




Had lunch here with Den's brother...Eggs Benedict!








Had dinner here with Den's other brother...Bloody Mary Gazpacho and I had the Farmer's Salad as my entree!








It was a very full day with our family!

Finished this...so good...Seattle, a devastating loss and an unfolding mystery...I think this is my first Sarah Jio book...love you Edelweiss!




Reading this...whoa...don't want to put this one down...love you Edelweiss and NetGalley!

My heart aches for her...we have little cameras in the house and we can see her activities...this is both fun and worrisome. She was snuggling in my robe! My poor baby!

Hmmm...

Finished this...read way way into the night last night...the bad guy is a really bad bad guy...there is a beast called The Cursed One...who comes up from the earth in a fire breathing rage...the Commander...the very bad guy...is mean and ruthless and evil and kills without remorse. Then we have lovely fiery Rachel and swoon worthy Logan...and the mess they are in...it's dystopian perfection!


Dinner last night was here...
Boulder...which is a trip of its own...lol...





Bistro ish...fun...yummy...I have a serious problem with over using yummy...we had escargot...we did old school French...and little filets and frites and tomatoes and greens...all on one plate...which was amazing for me because...I hate when food touches...so...to counter the effects of touching food...I ate the tomatoes first, then the greens, then the filet and last the frites...perfection!

Oh...and the escargot was in a yummy sauce and of course there was the best French bread for dipping! Then we had coffee which of course kept me up all night but then I read all of Defiance so...even Steven?

Now reading this...so good already...


Still horribly missing her...that face seems to be saying...where is Patty?
