Dippy Eggs And Duck Eggs!

I feel completely satisfied...I had not one but two poached eggs this morning at our local diner...I had rye toast and crisp bacon...it was so delicious! And there were potatoes...crispy not greasy potatoes...with catsup!

Den literally dragged me out of bed this morning to get me dippy eggs...my prince!

It's a beautiful day and Den is outside doing some spring clean up...he also found a mama duck nesting under one of the trees in the front of our house...the nest is very close to the house and I saw some bluish eggs! Oh me oh my! I need duck babies!



Finished this...not my fave but very good...


Reading this...still...and it's getting better and better...


Want to start this...from Amazon Vine...just came today...


And this one...also from Amazon Vine...it's supposed to be a "hot" summer book...it sounds really good...



The girls and I are waiting for Den to finish mowing...so we can sit on the deck for a bit and plan what we can't cook for dinner tonight!

Who Knew?

Sadly...we don't have a kitchen yet due to some minor obstacles...

The cooktop didn't fit so the granite people had to come back to fix that.

No one told us that strainers don't come with the sink so we don't have strainers and the sink can't be hooked up without them.

All of this happens when Den is away...of course.

The guy who is hooking up the sink is going turkey hunting so now the sink can't be installed until Wednesday or Thursday.

My dreams of a dippy egg and toast are totally gone. I truly am officially starving!

I guess it takes a village to get things back to normal again.

I am sort of in shock now about everything. I had to get up really early yesterday and today and I still can't make a dippy egg!

Finished this...it was really really amazing...

And this in a real book...


I don't like reading two books at the same time but I am...no clue why I am...must be the lack of a dippy egg that drove me to it.

We Almost Have A Kitchen!

OMG...if I could I would hug my island! As it is Roxie and Lucy are exploring every inch of the granite...it has the Tonk seal of approval!







I love my new deep sink! The kitties dive into the cooktop hole!


Notice my stack of paper plates!


Next the tiles...but anything will be better than waiting for the counters! We have to figure out the cabinet knobs...they have to drill holes in the island...my first thought was to change all knobs to stainless...but the granite has grays and flecks of white...I am surprising myself with my own patience...I normally would want everything done ASAP...I must be growing up...lol...

I like the idea of taking a little time to figure things out...

Any thoughts? On knob color? I am open for discussion!

The girls and I had to get up very early for The Granite Guys! Today the downstairs is even messier than before! But we are going to take the day off and chill...pizza for dinner! Yum!

Changed my mind about this...


Reading this...I needed a mystery/thriller!

It's Just A Bit Chilly Here!

I continue to try to ignore it by wearing shorts or short sleeves...but after five minutes I had to turn on the heat again and change. It is freezing here! I just checked the Weather Channel and it is 47 degrees!

Yikes!

Seriously!

I want to put on a pot of soup...but I can't even do that!

I am craving Chicken Tortilla Soup!

Sigh!

Finished this...really lovely. An amazing saga about a family who lives and breathes Palisades Park. The featured family is the Stopka's...who start off with a French Fry concession...a cup of salted fries with malt vinegar sells for ten cents! It was truly wonderful! It was filled with park history and world history. I loved this book.



Now reading this...another bit of fantasy on a cold dreary day! Plus time travel, a quest and love!

Monday!

OMG...another week without a kitchen...it seems endless. I should have my kitchen back by Saturday...unpainted, untiled but back...

Den has a grand plan for rearranging everything...lol...I can't wait!

Dinner last night at Portobello's...right in our little town...our first time there...it was lovely...a BYOB...only a year old, chef owned! We sat in the window. We ate spicy shrimps and grilled Caesar salad and crab cakes and lobster ravioli! Yum!






Finishing this...this is a new author for me...the book is delightful! Notes are exchanged between Madeline and Elliot. They live in totally different worlds. I am not even sure right now what's real and what isn't.



Off to buy more salad kits...more utensils, more coffee cups, more paper everything...have a delightful Monday!
