Saturday!

Sipping coffee...watching Shark Tank and then Survivor and then Grimm and then Hannibal with Den and the girls...we love Saturday morning!

There has only been one small kitty fight over the only heater in the house that both girls want...there are only about 30 others to sit on...but they both want the one the other claims first!




Finished this...one of the sweetest, quirkiest, most enjoyable books I have read this year! I would suggest it to anyone who loves books! Might that be you? Wink! Wink!


The next book? No clue at all...but I am thinking about it! Lol!

Books! And A Big Cookie!

Finally finished Bittersweet...so good and a must read! I have that sadness thing I get when I finish a book that I have spent so much time with. Every time I look at the cover I am back in Winloch with the Winslow family and their secrets. I loved this book.





Started this last night...A.J.Fikry owns a bookstore on an island and sells most of his books to tourists. He has very strong like and dislikes...he doesn't want books with vampires on his shelves or literary realism or fantasy or chick lit or books with less than 150 pages or more than 400 pages. He is a sad fussy little man. His bookstore is losing money and he is miserable until an amazing thing happens...so far I am in book love with this book!





Inexplicably...I want this...lol...a huge deep pan cookie with salted caramel from Pinch Of Yum!

I Almost Could Not Post Today!

I usually post from my iPad but the app kept crashing! So...I tried to post from my laptop...that was down, too! Blogger must have been bitten by a big bad bug today and now I forgot what my post was going to be about!

Oh...yes...my obsession with books and how I have bought a few new ones that look so good...and preordered one or two that just look so good...and how I am still reading Bittersweet...but...what I have realized is this...I love a book that takes a good long while to read. Bittersweet has tons of complicated characters, a complicated plot, a secret...probably lots of secrets...and scenes from a lake in Vermont that are so much fun to visualize. Imagine this...your family has so much money that one of your ancestors literally bought tons of this lake property. Tons of little houses were built...each with it's own sweet name and personality. There is a big house and then all of these sweet little cottages...basic but still fun to live in. It almost seems as though there are enough of these houses...scattered throughout the woods...for siblings and other heirs to have one. There is a Dining Hall...with a cook...so if you want to never cook you just wander there! It sounds so wonderful except for something rotten in the core of this family...sigh!

Chickens!

I really want some chickens...I want those pretty fluffy ones that lay those pretty blue eggs.

But it's most likely not going to happen. So sad!

Reading this still...but it's just so good I don't want it to end!

made pizza dough from scratch
caramelized an onion
sauteed potatoes
made a dressing for a kale salad
toasted pine nuts
soaked golden raisins in balsamic vinegar
baked a goat cheese, caramelized onion and potato pizza



did laundry
set the table
played with kitties
fixed an issue with my Kindle Paper White



I am exhausted.

Oh my!

I am an evil sorceress...I probably I got that way from reading too much delusional YA fantasy.

Den's plan for cleaning the kitchen yesterday sort of went away with a flip of my magic wand! Lol...or with a toss of my magic headband...lol...I could not get Roxie to wear hers...sigh! I had a huge list of reasons why this miserably involved task could be put off for a while and I won! Yea...me!


















Just in from Whole Foods and I think we spent more not eating meat than eating meat...lol.

This is dinner tonight...from a lovely lovely blog calked Julia's Album. It's a creamy fettuccine...and I bought Whole Foods fresh lovely pasta for it. It has mushrooms, spinach and freshly grated Parmesano Reggianno cheese! Yum! I hope!




Reading this...for me...it just keeps getting better and better...
