Caught!

Last night our little squirrel friend walked himself into one of the safe traps...he spent the night there eating oranges and peanut butter. Today he is going to his new home. We are left with a chewed up window frame that Den has to figure out how to mend and we also have a less trustful attitude about the roofers who said our house was airtight. No animals could get in...ha!

And again...my kitties are totally oblivious to any weird animal noise...you would think that they would sense something but neither one of them do. Roxie just skips along and wants to play and Lucy just sleeps through everything.

The one thing that came out of all this is total chaos in our house since Monday...lots of vacuuming and climbing into attics and Den says the basement is a mess from the squirrel...yep...the basement we've been trying to organize all year long...has chewed up stuff everywhere. And today our phone lines...land lines...don't work...everything else works but the phones say no lines...yet one more annoying thing to deal with. I am supposed to be resting! Getting strong! No stress! Ha!

Books...loving this. I don't quite know how I missed the first one!

I am kind of meandering through all of these books at the same time...so unlike me.

And...

It shocks me because I am a quarter of the way through each one!

I want a fig tree. Not sure why...

I want this...yum!

I want a creamy rice and chicken dinner...mmmmm!

I want these...my new love this year is Antrhopopgie! And today everything is 20% off!

Ok...off to read and relax...try to figure out what I am actually reading instead of being all over the place.

Have an awesome weekend...see you on Monday!

Hugs,

Patty

Still The Five Of Us!

Our guest is still living with us! Rob...our friend and small animal expert...has told us that our guest is very scared and will only come out at night and that Den and I need to be very very patient...we have a safe trap, oranges, peanut butter, wine, caviar, candles, soft music...we are doing anything and everything we can to entice him out. Den is freaking out...I am just trying to stay calm. As I write Den is planning a trip up into the attic. I am imagining a crazed squirrel attacking him and then getting to me and Lucy and Roxie!

Currently reading...it's absolutely fascinating...

Now Den is freaking out even more because the guest chewed up the wood around the basement window!

Will this ever end?

My day will be in turmoil...

Hugs,

Patty

OMG!

Whatever was bouncing around in the attic is now in our basement. Rob...our amazing animal and insect guy...can't get here until tomorrow!

Den saw a tail under our basement door...it's this little guy!

It's the same little cutie that Roxie watches from our bedroom window. Den is in the basement now with the French doors open...gently trying to coax him out the door! He also has peanut butter on apples in a safe trap. Why won't he just walk himself out of the door?

Please little squirrel? Please?

Finished this...it's fun and serious and dysfunctional and lovely. Flossy is the matriarch in this summer beachy house and has successfully coaxed all of her grown children along with their children and issues to the family's summer house. Flossy is also planning a big birthday party for her husband and an announcement about the house for her adult children. Flossy's biggest issue revolves around getting a stuffed oyster recipe from her neighbor...this is too funny! This author literally stuffed everything into this book...a death, a gay couple who yearn for children, job loss, marital issues, and children growing up too soon...it's a near perfect beach book!

Up next? Perhaps one of these?

Does this ever happen to you? Do you choose a book to read and then unchoose it? Plus I tend to want to read newer books right away...I am so bad about this...

Squirrel update...he is still living with us! He refuses to be coaxed out of the basement!

Hugs,

Patty

It's On To The Next One!

Reading this...it's light and breezy and hopefully everyone's issues can be handled easily. Plus I am totally in love with the house on the cover...totally!

Food...

I yearn to make pasta with homemade sauce...more peasant bread...a big salad...but I am still tired/fatigued. I want a piece of cake, too! This cake is what I want! Pile on the berries!

So now I am second guessing what I should read. I hate when I do that. And something is making crawling noises in our vaulted bedroom wall...those same walls that were so comforting yesterday now house a wild animal! Slightly freaking out here.

I am home alone!

Yikes!

Our closet leads to the attic which leads to the wild animal!

OMG!

Lucy and Roxie will have no clue how to protect themselves either. It will be up to me! Here they are discussing the problem with the only solution being me!

The three of us might not move until Den returns.

Hugs,

Patty

Books...

Finished and loved this one in spite of it being a rough reading weekend...I think what happens with Big Chemo and Neulasta is it makes it hard to really read the way I like to...I have to read much slower and with lots more breaks...I hate reading that way! But this book is so good it was almost worth a slow and leisurely reading experience.

Our weekend was spent upstairs...in our bedroom...Den reading...Patty reading...the girls stretched out on our bed...enjoying my new pink summer chenille bedspread. These girls always claim whatever is new! There was a Law and Order Marathon and that helped, too. Our bedroom has big vaulted ceilings and lots of windows so I don't really ever feel closed in. I couldn't move...I don't think I went downstairs all weekend...I seriously just couldn't. But it's the third day after Neulasta and I feel better and stronger already...so little by little I will get back to the business of being me!

Some new books!
