An Adventure!

Finished and thoroughly loved this book! Historical fiction? Not sure...but it took place during the "roaring twenties". Three young adventurers with some major issues...written beautifully...I loved sweet sad Henry!

Now for the adventure!
We drove to Frederick, Maryland yesterday...a sweet town...filled with history. It was our anniversary and we wanted to eat at Volt. The kitties had their sitter...we were spending the night and dinner was amaze balls! We did the same thing last's about a two hour sort of easy drive and there are lots of things to do when you are there...museums, wineries, shops, parks, etc.
Chef Bryan Voltaggio and Chef Graeme Ritchie...
We scored the coveted window seat...Frederick is filled with shops and brownstones...
Dinner is amazing and in lovely smaller portions...sort of...the photographs are totally out of order and I forgot to take pix of Arctic Char...Den's beets...Den's Parsnip Soup which sounds awful but was off the wall yummy!
This was a soft egg stuffed RAVIOLO...not RAVIOLI...but I ate it!
Then the next day we picked up our Anniversary Cake...and drove home where the girls have been ignoring us for hours! Madagascar Vanilla! So delicious!
Before our drive home we stopped at this chef's casual restaurant for lunch...OMG...soooooo delicious! We bought neat mugs!
Duck fat fries...yikes...
We splurged our calories on this...
The Patty & Den Anniversary Adventure has come to an end. We are home, tired, the girls are mad at us and there is no dinner...just cake!

Tuesday's Thoughts...

I am reading this...but...something really terrible has happened to my Kindle and Den's Kindle...they won't work! Rita...I will let you know when I finish!

So that stopped me from tearing into this.

And forced me to start this...which I didn't think I would like but which I really do like a lot.
I made this Pumpkin Coffee Creamer this afternoon...from a blog I love called creamycrunchysweet. It is soooo good...not sweet like other pumpkin coffee has pumpkin pie spice and brown sugar and real puréed pumpkin in it...and then milk and cream or you can use half and half. There are tons of amazing pumpkin recipes on this blog!
This is dinner...from Everyday Foods. Jumbo shells are stuffed with tuna, spinach, Parmesan Cheese and whole grain bread crumbs. I also had to make a white sauce...yum! It's topped with more cheesy breadcrumbs and baked...until it's all golden and bubbly! Dinner is soon!
I want to make these later this week...aren't they so cute? That's a meatball in that pasta nest! Indeed it is!
Off to check my sad...

Back With Books And Stuff!!!

This weekend was filled with of all kinds! College football and professional football...whew! This is both good and bad.

Good because I literally read three books in their entirety...

This one was an accident. I read was really good...but I didn't like it at all. I thought it was going to be similar to the Tom Hanks movie? But it was not like that at all.

This one? First time author...yummy cozy Southern was great fun! Plus it has recipes!
This one...OMG...this was a beautiful middle grade book. Sweet, sad, just beautifully written. Main character Suzy...quirky, odd, not really popular. She has had one best friend for all of her life and suddenly her friend is turning away from her. Franny gives her reasons but ultimately Suzy is just not one of the cool's really heartbreakingly sad. Something really terrible happens and Suzy becomes obsessed with starts out as a science project but becomes so much more. The help of a great teacher and a classmate with ADHD...get Suzy on back on track.
New books!
Family saga...
Dystopian! Urban! Paranormal! YA!

YA physical and emotional abuse!

Historical! Family saga!
Science fiction! Space opera! Suspense!
I am not making any kind of reading plan this week!
Starting this in moments I think!
Historical...thriller...suspense! Yum!
Have an awesome Monday!
