Summer Flu?

I hope I don't have that "superbug" that was on the nightly news yesterday. I feel lethargic, not hungry and I have tummy cramps. Brian Williams says that the only person who has it lives in Pennsylvania. Yikes! Plus both kitties keep watching me...suspiciously. They say cats know when you don't feel well. I hope they don't think I have that superbug! I think that they are chatting about me!

I did nothing today but watch Diagnosis Murder...starring Dick Van Dyke and his son...Columbo is out and Diagnosis Murder is my new obsession. I started my book...but I fell asleep. Then Den made me mashed potatoes...my "sick" comfort food...I plan on a big dinner of jello later. Oh...and our air conditioner just stopped working...and the estimate to stain the deck is outrageous. Not a great day!

I hope to read more later...after jello...

Thursday's Thoughts...

I think I need to make this...but I can no longer find the recipe.

When Lucy looks at me like this...I am at her mercy.

Seriously.

I still need to make these breakfast baked potatoes. But I can't imagine waking up and baking two potatoes.

 

I want to fill my refrigerator with these nine homemade salad dressings. I made the Honey Mustard one and it was yummy! They were on Pinterest.

Roxie...unlike Lucy...is not big on eye contact. It makes us think she is guilty of something. Usually...she is.

So...It's The Middle Of The Week...

It has not been an exciting week. At all...lately I think my life is now the opposite of exciting...everything that Den suggests I am out of the mood for...movies, lunches, dinners out...I am just not in the mood! Seriously...is it this stream of bad weather and I need to be jump started into summer or is it because we have already been to the beach three times and it's not even warm yet?

My siblings all have chaos in their lives...controlled chaos...one brother is still in Saudi but both of his daughters here are having first babies in the same month, my other brother has a daughter getting married and my sister is building a new house next door to her old house! If we venture home to Ohio we have to stay at a hotel because her daughter's family...husband, dog and four young children are living in her house with her! This is because my sister's daughter sold her house and my sister's house won't be ready until fall and my sister's daughter is buying my sister's house! My sister says there are kids, toys,and furniture everywhere!

Fun!!!

We have decisions to make, too, but I am all about postponing them. I need time to think!

And my iPad cover has these little tiny teeth marks in it, too. She tried to bite my Kindle cover but she can't figure out how to open it.

One More Trip To Wolff's!

Today we are planting 3 huge pots with what I love to call "my flowerpot potpourri"...

We trekked back to Wolff's for just a few more flowers! I have tall spiky things in the middle of these pots and traily things for the sides and lavender and lemon balm and minty herbs to keep the mosquitos away! We will plop geraniums and lantana and verbena in these pots, too...and some amazing little pink popcorn flowers that I can't remember the name of! And marigolds...we always plant marigolds...tiny ones because Den loves them even though he always calls them geraniums. Then we will say a prayer that we haven't created a deer salad bowl! We bought these really cool whisky half barrels. I can't wait to plant them but apparently plant gathering exhausted Den and he is napping! So...we will plant soon.

Oh my!

Finished this lovely book! Typical Beatriz Williams lovely style! It was just plain yummy!

Starting this now...I have no clue how I will feel about this one!

Off to read and plant and watch Den sleep!

It's All About The Books!

For some reason...even though I love this author...I was reluctant to dive into this book. But I read it through most of the Billboard Music Awards...they were as awful as I expected...but they provided a great reading background. I am really loving this book! Did you know that a "cavalier" is a representative that a man sends to his potential fiance to present her with the ring and ask her to marry him? This book is all about the "cavalier"...not being so cavalier!

So...what else is Monday for other than sharing new books? I love doing this and then going to Book Date's post to read and comment on a few new blogs. It's my perfect way to spend a lazy Monday morning.

So...those are my newest books...I am off to tidy the house and then read a bit...oh...laundry, too, I think...it's very chilly here today...again...and we aren't sleeping...for some odd reason there seems to be three separate goose families in our yard! We usually have only one...we can't figure this out...and they all seem to be "yelling" at each other! Plus they didn't all appear at the same time...why can't we all just get along?
