We Are Ready!

All we had the energy for today after coffee and a bowl of Cheerios with blueberries was a quick shopping trip...locally...for some July 4th food! And I didn't even go...I sent Den...loaded with notes about what to get and what to get if he could not find something on the list that he was supposed to get... We went from elaborate recipes with tons of ingredients to simple basic stuff...the amazing hamburgers that our butcher makes with oven baked corn and a light green salad. Den's reward for shopping is that I am making him a Key Lime Pie...it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow! His only big error was that I wanted heavy cream and he bought a can of whipped cream...but I don't really even care...we will figure it out. I have the "day after all that fun and travel" weariness...where all I want to do is relax...maybe read...and rest...I have not even unpacked my bag yet...that may take days!

I am still reading this but it is such a lovely big book! I should be done today.

I think I won't be back until Monday...for blogging...unless something exciting pops up!

We're Baaaaack!

We just got back from another of our two and one half day two hour away trips! Whew! This week we left on Tuesday...got there in the afternoon...walked, crashed, uncrashed ourselves and went to drinks and dinner...then a lightning and thunderstorm awakened us...in the middle of the night. We were in Saint Michael's, Maryland...in the Chesapeake Bay. The Inn At Perry Cabin...we love it here!

On Wednesday we went to Telighman Island...to see more of the Chesapeake...breathtakingly lovely...we were pronouncing it Tell-ig-man...but it's pronounced Till-man. It's really a fishing town but there are tons of beautiful houses...we ate soft shell crabs and watched the bridge go up and down! And down and up!

Later...back at the inn...we rode bikes...did drinks and dinner...ate the best cupcake ever...and crashed again! Only to be awakened by another night time lightning and thunder storm!

Home to the girls...they both got a great report card...except Lucy hissed at Donna The Amazing Tonksitter...lol...she really only wants me...to give her meds...

They both got new toys...but Lucy took them both...and Roxie let her!

Now we are starving, tired and waiting for pizza!

Wednesday's Wonders!

We have been away...although we are home now...on another one of our two day two hours away vacays!

There was some weird problem with our room here so we were upgraded to a suite and we seriously never want to leave...we just need the girls here and we will be happy! The Inn At Perry Cabin is the best ever! We went to an island, rode bikes...and ate cupcakes...sparingly! For some reason we were booked into a weird room with two double beds...the inn never knew such a room existed so they put us in this INCREDIBLE suite...two bathrooms, just an incredible yummy living room...it's amazing...I had my own dressing table!

 

We missed beer and bingo...to Den's dismay!

Today's cupcake...

I have been totally absorbed in this book...it's so wonderful to just read leisurely...this book is sooooooo good! I read it early in the morning and late into the night...it's wonderful!

A Ho Hum Day!

There is no sun in my part of the world...we made our shade part of the deck so comfy and inviting and all we do is put sectional and chair pillows in bins...take the kitty tent out...set it up and then put it away again...Lucy doesn't believe me when I tell her it's raining...I have to open a deck door...let her look out for a few minutes...let her look back at me as though it's my fault...and then shut the door again and try to explain to her that the sunroom is just as good as the deck...if not better...she never believes me...Roxie...well...Roxie is still too young...she mostly wants what Lucy wants...

They both want this...

They don't believe me...

Pondering my words...sigh!

Reading this...still...I love this author and her quirky Baltimore/Bal'more...as said around here...stories! Love them!

It's All About The Books...

My Amazon Vine pile o' books is now whittled down to five books! I am so excited I can't see straight! Every time I finished a Vine book before I made this promise to myself...I would request another one...but I have not requested a book in weeks! Keep up the great work, Patty! Lol!

However my NetGalley and Edelweiss books "runneth over"...but this is my preferred way to read books...I love ereading!

They run the gamut from fantasy to thriller to YA to fiction...and the next few months are going to be spent reading tons of ebooks!

Off to make Jamie Oliver's Proper Caesar Salad With Roasted Chicken for dinner! The calories in the dressing are much lower because of Greek yogurt!

A Do Nothin' Day...

We have a busy week coming up...and all that I am doing is thinking about all the things I need to do. Today seems to be a day of kitty unrest...Roxie is circling the TV...sometimes stopping to watch something...

Lucy is circling the house and literally screaming...this is the Tonk way of telling us she wants some deck time! The more we ignore her the louder she screams...yep...this sweet baby is an obnoxious screamer!

I am so relaxed I can't see straight...for now...stuff will start to get stressful soon...

It has cooled down enough here to turn off the air conditioner and open up all of the house windows! It feels breezy and refreshing!
