A Few More Bits And Bobs!

Reading this...it's a lovely, deep, dark compelling book about a man on death row ( York ) and the ex priest and The Lady...what she is called...who want to save him. The author is one of those authors whose words are so beautiful that even while I am reading about all of the sad things that formed York...I remain sort of mesmerized by the writing. Oh...and making everything difficult is that York does not want to be saved...he wants to die.



I am reading a lot this week but with way too many starts and stops...
Started and stopped this...but it's really good and I will pick it up again later today...


Still have not started this...it's the kind of book I love to save for a plane, car or train trip.

And this...I know it's good...I just need to work it in the queue...lol...it's in the queue but I started and stopped it. My bad...I hate when I do this!


Did you know that normally cats sleep a lot? I am discovering that mine do not...sleep very much. Yesterday...Roxie was up all afternoon...racing, running, literally waiting for me to play...she even ran into a wall!
Thank goodness we have a lot of house for her to fly through! The only thing that gets her quiet is if I let her into our big master closet. For some reason seeing all of my clothes calms her...just like it does for me! Lol...

A Dusting Of Snow!

It's beautiful outside...in spite of getting just a little bit more snow. There is one lone goose by the bird feeders...he seems sad but there are ducks and birds keeping him company. But where is his gal pal? Or her boy toy? Oh my!

Balmy No More!

Den never really asks for anything special to eat...well...other than every Sunday when he asks for pancakes or waffles...which are always from scratch and extremely annoying to make...he is always content to be surprised...but today...as he bundled himself up to go outside...he asked for something really warm for dinner...so...I am surprising him with this! It's an Enchilada Pasta from a blog called...no. 2 pencil. I am betting that he will love this! And...everything cooks in the pan other than popping it into the oven to brown and melt the cheese!







Reading this...a role playing game playing murder mystery with tons of quirky characters that takes place in San Francisco.



Happy Tuesday! I am off to gather provisions...and try to stay warm...we are supposed to try not to use too much electricity in the morning and evening...tons of schools are closed...and it is most def not balmy any more!

A Balmy Day!

I think it's about 40 degrees outside today...it's almost warm!

Reading and absolutely loving this...Nyx has been promised to the demon who rules the land...I know...sounds awful...but...it's so good...she is a raven haired beauty with mad skills and she is supposed to kill him but she is torn because she has this weird attraction to him...of course he is so handsome and so powerful and so awful that she gets totally worked up whenever they are together. Apparently they are husband and wife...her wedding dress was a vivid red but they have not been "together"...get it?...yet! Oh my...sometimes YA is so much more complicated...there are all of these tasks to overcome in his house and secret rooms and at night she spends time with his shadow...appropriately named Shade...he is as good as Ignifex is evil. Yep...that's the demon's name until she guesses his correct name...I am not quite sure why I love this book but I do! I actually like the demon more than I like the raven haired beauty.

I am discovering that I definitely love my love scenes with a PG-13 rating...I love all the angst and anguish! Oh my...I love the "closing lips over mine" kind of kisses where the raven haired beauty is so overcome she can barely stand and then she gets mad and storms off! Yum! Don't laugh!

Oh My!

I am not sure what to do about today! There is no football! None? Oh...sorry...there is something called the Pro Bowl? But I am not sure that is something we watch...so...this turns out to be a calming day before next Sunday...Super Bowl Sunday. There will be tons of orange jerseys displayed, a beloved helmet set in front of the TV, screaming, cheers, shouts of joy and sorrow, brotherly phone calls from here to Denver and Denver to here, moans and wails about why did he ever leave, and that would be all from Den! I am mentally preparing for this...if I can. It is what it is. I have two choices...I can stay and watch in shock and awe or I can go upstairs. Usually I read and just watch Den in shock and awe. He makes Lucy nervous because he is up and down and screaming and shouting. Roxie...she is a Super Bowl novice...lol...not sure how she will handle the fuss.







Roxie is so tiny that none of Lucy's hoodies fit her. She also isn't into wearing things the way Lucy is...I need to find her something orange for next Sunday's official Super Bowl photo...hmmm...


Reading this...really good...one sister in a set of twins is forced to marry someone she despises in order to save her twin...tons of resentment there...lol...it's YA and I am just getting into it...
