Made this last night...it's called Danish Apple Pie. The recipe was on the opening pages of The Apple Orchard by Susan Wiggs.
It's simple and has the texture of a custardy creamy apple something or other. I think the secret is the diced sautéed apples. I have googled other recipes but none are as simple as the one in the book. The "Den Man"
was crazed with it. We had it slightly warm and with Haagen Dazs Vanilla Gelato on the top...yum! It is seriously good. Hollah if you want the recipe!
Reading this...New York, dysfunctional siblings, funny clever writing...kind of loving it. I didn't read her first book but I will...Girls In White Dresses.
A few yummy books that have come my way...the minute this one said "boarding school" I was in!
Did you know that he is Ann Rice's son? Love this cover.
And from his mom...love this cover, too!
In yesterday's mail...more cover love! I have not read this author in a while so I am looking forward to this one.
Books...what is it about them that's so wondrous and exciting?

BlogPress is still making me crazy...I can not change my font, using an apostrophe is off limits and when I tried to link my blog just vanished. BlogPress is quick to respond to issues and they said they are working on fixing everything. Again...this is due to an update. Sigh!
Finished this...it was really good. The writing was beautiful, the Northern California setting is one I love, the apple orchards, the vineyards, the recipes and heavenly food descriptions, the puppies, the relationships...all stuff I love but...this book did not capture me. I really need to be held captive by a book. When I am not, I think it is more my fault than not. I am almost positive this book is the first in a series, too.
Reading this...a girl from a wealthy prestigious Florida family marries a boy from a family that is quite the opposite from hers...so far everything appears to be pointing them toward disaster! Yum!
I just finished this one, too, creepy, scary, very good...I think I truly love dysfunctional dystopian thriller chillers...at least every once in a while!
It is another showery stormy kind of day...I have to zip out this afternoon and then I just want to sit in the sunroom and listen to the rain fall. The vaulted high ceilings in the sunroom and all of the windows there make it my fave place to read and think and listen to music...especially when it rains!

Why do people change a good thing? I loved blogging from my iPad and now the updated app has changed everything. I don't even know how it will look. Everything is different and so far I hate it!
Happy Monday To Patty!
Finally finished this...I don't know why it took me days to read this...I think it was the week end, distractions, and the fact that Den fell while he was away and has a huge knot on his leg...he had X-rays and is fine but it is painful...so he had to keep it wrapped, iced, and elevated. And I had to answer about 20 questions a day about whether I thought it should still be black and blue.
Very distracting...lol...back to this book...sort of about Anna...a young magician and illusionist...and her mom. And the belief that she was Harry Houdini's illegitimate daughter. It was really good. Fast paced, mysterious...exciting...Anna was a fabulous character...independent...strong...charming. I am sure it is the first in a trilogy.
Now reading this...
Making this for dinner...a friend posted it on FB...it's fajitas all prepped and baked in the oven! The recipe is on my FB page! It's easy...and still looks yummy!
OMG...the picture looks HUGE! Sorry!
