What Makes Me Happy Today...

It's like going to the library without going to the library!





A half of a frozen pizzelle...vanilla...it's all that's left and Den keeps taking pieces of it...





Ina's Chicken Soup...I was tidying up the veg bin yesterday and pre chopped carrots and celery so today I just heated chicken stock and tossed everything in while I roasted the chicken breasts in the oven...this is the easiest and best chicken soup I have ever made! It even has wide noodles! My noodle love is truly for wide gluten filled noodles!



Still reading three books but whittling my way down to one...

We Have Grill Guests!

A few days ago when it was 60 degrees here...Den went out to the deck to start the grill...upon opening the grill...we found her...and a friend. They have a lovely house constructed on the grill pan...so...we gave them a huge Italian roll...and we are leaving them there. We did not have the heart to hurt them or move them...I want Den to take them some dinner today. Researching/googling little mouse treats now...






Ok...loving this book and it is not Historical Fiction as I thought...no clue why I thought that...but it's lovely and it is about a family of midwives although I have to say some of the midwifery baby delivering stuff is not fun to read...sigh! Birthing pools? Birthing balls? Pulling out your own baby? TMI...
I will finish this one later today.





That's it for me on a Friday...tidying up...making Jamie Oliver's creamy mushrooms on toast for Den for lunch and the pasta Chef Tom Colichio made on the Today Show for dinner...pasta, broccoli, ham, Parmesano Reggiano cheese...pretty much all done in one pot! Love one pot suppers on a cold Friday night!

Den made breakfast! Lucy and Roxie and I had breakfast in bed this freezing cold morning.
Den is really good with peanut butter!







The girls will only drink water from that bowl which is from my fave set of ice cream bowls.



The girls are cold in spite of their heated beds!






Reading these...still...yep...I am a three at a timer this week! And I am not even sure how this happened...

This one is just a really good mystery by a favorite author of mine...I started it on my Kindle in the middle of the night...

I Kind Of Have To Face It...I Am Addicted To Movies...This Week!

We just saw In The Woods! It was wonderful! We are so hooked on Fork And Screen.

We had toasted cheese sandwiches and apple slices while we watched the movie in big comfy leather rocker chairs! They let us get the kids menu!









It is so cold here it is scary! Scary cold! Brr! It is not pleasant outside at all and really windy! We were supposed to have dinner tonight at our botanical gardens and then walk around outside but we have cancelled...it is impossible to be outside! Totally impossible!





Just finished this...about a twin who takes her sister's identity when her sister dies...really good!

We saw The Hobbit in these seats! Den had a lovely pale ale and nearly fell asleep! I don't think I can ever go to a regular theatre again!





Toast and eggs and avocados for dinner...with a side of creamy organic polenta...when we are not in the mood for big dinners...this is our comfort food!

We will soon be seeing this at Cinema Suites! Sitting in comfy leathery oversized chairs...and I may just eat a pizza there! And a soda! I never drink soda!

More Rain! When Will It Stop?

I am almost finished with this book...I am finding it really lovely...beautifully written...engaging yet quite dysfunctional characters...oh my!






Early this morning I woke up wired...and finally finished this on my Kindle...I think I loved it even more than Hunger Games...it will be a trilogy...I read that someone already bought its movie rights...I read this one in spurts but about one quarter through...I had to just keep reading it...the premise of this is amazing. In this society you either have red blood or silver blood. If you are a Silver you are soooooo lucky...if you are a Red...OMG...your life is worth NOTHING! Enter Mare...who doesn't realize she is a Red with Silver Powers! So good! No one can be trusted and the ending was brilliant.

It's a long rainy day of football! Lol...I will be reading much of the day!
