I have this weird yen to bake doughy things...there is something about seeing dough rise that is so exciting! Den's study is the warmest place in the downstairs so when the dough is made...I put it in an antique earthenware bowl...that my dad bought me...cover it with Press And Seal and a red tea towel...the same red tea towel every time...and an hour or two later the dough has risen to the top! It's magic! Yesterday I made the Pioneer Woman's Cinnamon Bread! It was wonderful...Den and I are having a toasted slice later with tea while we watch The Bachelor...also known as Prince Farming. I have Den seriously hooked on The Bachelor! My bread looks just like this other than mine sunk a tiny bit in the middle...sigh...I think I needed a larger baking pan...
Finishing this in minutes...it's an amazing family story about life during and just after WWI.
The minute my review is done I am back to this book. I can't wait!
Happy Reading!
I wish I could bake bread but I'm a total failure at it.
ReplyDeletemmm. I love that bread! I've made it and it's so good. I'm making dough for pizza lol
ReplyDeleteBaking and books are the best, aren't they?! With this cold weather keeping me inside, I've been doing a lot of both. I'd like to give that cinnamon bread a try; it would be perfect with a cup of hot tea.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing!
DeleteI have never baked anything that has to rise. Now I am curious to give it a try! It does sound great on a cold winter day. :)

It was so much fun!
DeleteOh, I love the smell and taste of baked bread...but, alas, I don't bake bread. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYum! I love Cinnamon bread!
ReplyDeleteThis one is particularly yummy when toasted!
DeleteI love fresh baked bread. Do you review cook books? It seems you would be a natural for it! Or even a cooking show.
