Tea And A Toasted Scone?

This book is good. Seriously good.

Filled with flawed characters. Tons of them.

Total family dysfunction.

At its best.

It's over 600 pages long and I have been glued to every word.

Other than to make tea and eat a biscuit.

I am always influenced by what I read...sometimes in odd ways.

I am in the middle of this book and I have no clue what happened to Ian...there are so many possibilities. I suspect everyone.

Sigh...

Sometimes there is nothing in the world as comfy and as mesmerizing as a really good British mystery. Elizabeth George is a master of this kind of mystery.

  1. But, are you loving it?

Still no rain here, but Seattle is taking a hit so I suspect we'll have something here soon. Maybe?

  3. I love British writers, whether the book is a mystery or a cozy tale like the ones Vincenzi writes; or perhaps something by Maeve Binchy.

I just finished my 627 page Vincenzi novel, and it was delicious, with suspense, drama, dysfunction, and a few cozy things along the way. Loved it!

Love the look of that scone...I'm drooling here!

  6. Sounds good! This is just the kind of book I'd read and pass along to my mom. She loves a good mystery.

  7. Hi! I chanced upon your blog through the Comment Challenge, and I'm glad that it did.
It's been so long since I've been so absorbed with an adult novel (YA lit and picture books have taken me into their clutches) - but this does sound delectable (and yup, the scone looks yummy too!)
