The Week End & Books...

So...the week end was uneventful...but...I was really stressed and depressed on Sunday. It really doesn't happen often but every once in a while I just feel sad and sorry for me. Den holds my hands and reminds me of all the good stuff...we've had awesome progress...nothing hurts...I am mostly positive...there are incredible people in my life who are helping me through all of this...they are amazing and they are teaching me so much...Den reminds me of all of these good things. I look at him and all he has done for me over the past 6 months...he is doing anything and everything he can to make me healthy and happy and feel safe again. And I do...mostly. Even the kitties help relax me...

And none of them are bothered by my hats and weird very curly hair growing in just a little!

Books!

I don't know why I choose a book and share it because I always change my mind. This isn't what I planned to read over the weekend.

I am reading this because I won the second one from Mary and I hate reading things out of order. It's delightful! The heroine is Veronica Speedwell...she loves adventures, men and butterflies! And odd clothes!

New books!

I can't believe it but I got this one! I have wanted it ever since I saw it!

From NetGalley...

From Amazon...

"From the New York Times bestselling author of Flight Patterns comes a stunning new novel about a young single mother who discovers that the nature of friendship is never what it seems..."

From Edelweiss...
From Amazon...

"The Original Ginny Moon is a brilliant debut. In asking us to identify with a developmentally delayed, autistic teenage girl and her peculiar obsession, Ben Ludwig set himself an Olympic degree of difficulty, but he succeeds with the extraordinary Ginny Moon. I was unable to put the book down as I willed her to overcome the obstacles within and around her. Ben Ludwig is a fine observer of human dynamics, and his sometimes dark sense of humor means that the emotional journey, challenging as it is, never becomes wearing. I was mightily impressed--this novel has all the elements for critical and popular success!" -Graeme Simsion, New York Times bestselling author of The Rosie Project

From Edelweiss...
From Amazon...

"The River at Night is a dark, twisting, unrelenting thriller that kept me frantically turning the pages well into the night. Erica Ferencik skillfully combines jolting plot twists, lyrical prose, and a beautifully brutal setting, cementing The River at Night as my favorite debut novel of the year." (New York Times bestselling author Heather Gudenkauf )

I have a few more but I am saving them!

We have a wild windy day here...the beaches nearest to us our flooding...there are reports of power outages! Yikes!

Hugs,

Patty

  1. There's no way anyone could go through what you've been going through and not have a pity party every once in a while. Thank heavens for Den!

I tried to get The Night the Lights Went Out from netgalley but was declined. Oh well.

  3. Love the photos you share and how you stay positive...yes, a sadness now and then is perfectly normal!

I can't wait to get the Karen White book...and like Kathy, I am stunned by the occasional "rejection," from NetGalley, but then I realize that I've only been there a little while (50 reviews so far). So time will bring more goodies...

I will buy the Karen White.

  4. What a fine husband you have. Emotional support is just as important as the physical. The first book I have on my TBR and my library has it! I've put a hold and I'm #14 but that's okay because I have other books to read. And thank you for commenting on my recent socks post!
