Take this one...takes place just after WWII...two cousins...two dysfunctional relationships with their husbands...it is one of those books that I love from its opening pages. One couple heading off to LA...the other sitting at 21 in NYC and all they can afford for dinner are two martinis, a bowl of olives, and a bowl of celery.
My kind of dinner!
I will finish this one today...it's another yummy summer book! With lots of bite to it!
Don't you love this cover?

That sounds like my kind of dinner as well, but I'd forgo the bowl of celery for a second bowl of olives! lol The book sounds wonderful to me.
ReplyDeleteIt is good and a good one for me after Summerland!

ReplyDeleteIt is!!!
DeleteLove the cover...love the story. Sounds good to me with two martinis, and a bowl of olives...not too shabby to have at the 'world famous' 21 club in NYC. That was a well known restaurant, where movie stars used to dine; if I remember correctly reading about it!
ReplyDeleteI would love to get this book...my kind of story:D
I think you would love it!
DeleteThose hats kick butt! Lol...
ReplyDeleteDon't they though?
DeleteAnd sundresses on the beach!
I hadn't heard of this book, Patty, but it does look great. I am really fascinated by the WWII time period.
