Workin' My Way Through A Mess Of Books!

Reading these over the next few days...

From Amazon...""A sharp, perceptive novel about family and forgiveness, Whiskey & Charlie will stay with me for a very long time." Christina Baker Kline, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Orphan Train."

From Amazon..."Behind the glamorous facade of elite Belgian society lies a seedy world unseen by the public eye—but nothing stays hidden forever."

From Amazon..."After losing both her parents before age 17, aspiring designer Caitlin Holte feels like her whole world has been turned upside down, and that was before the terrifying encounter with a supernatural force. Then, she learns that her hot bad-boy neighbor, Adrian--who might have just saved her life--is actually a half-demon vampire.

Suddenly Caitlin is stuck with a vampire bodyguard who feels that the best way to protect her is to become her pretend boyfriend. Trouble is, Caitlin is starting to fall in love for real, while Adrian can never love a human. Caitlin trusts Adrian to keep her safe from his demon father, but will he be able to protect her heart?" Yum!

From Amazon...""A masterful tale of social climbing and entrenched class distinctions, as seen through the eyes of an outsider who desperately wants in. Tense, hilarious, and bursting with gorgeous language. Stephanie Clifford is a 21st-century Edith Wharton." -J. Courtney Sullivan, New York Times bestselling author of The Engagements."
Next up...two not so good...
We got our new car and they gave me an iPad mini! It's so cute! But it was sad saying good bye to my car...I loved it!
Something bit my arm in the night! I felt a pinch but I thought I was dreaming! Now I have an itchy red bump on my arm! Den is freaking me out about it but it really doesn't hurt...again...I seriously thought I was dreaming! We have searched the entire house and installed a bug zapper electronic thing but we are both afraid of what might be lurking in the dark and out to get us!
Happy Wednesday!

  1. Love the cover of Whiskey Charlie and if Stephanie Clifford is a 21st-century Edith Wharton, I'll definitely be reading her book!

  2. Those books look good...that bug, not so much. Yikes!

  3. Good luck with your new car! I would like to read Whiskey and Charlie if I had the chance.

I actually have been stung by scorpions twice, not here in So Cal, but in FL! We built our first home there on a lot and I guess we disturbed many local insects because we had scorpions creep in and walk on the ceiling several times during the first couple of months. My cat luckily would sit and stare at it and warn my hubby to get the broom. My bites, stings, pinches... whatever it is called, happened once when I picked up "something" on the carpet in the kids' room and I thought it was a loose piece of toy, in the dark! The second was when I was sitting out on our deck. Not a pleasant thing, but that variety not life-threatening for the average folk.

  4. Hope you love the new car as much as the old one. And yikes on the bite - hopefully its not from a scorpion! Enjoy your new books too :)

    1. Thank you Mary! I want my little car back!
