Oh My...I Really Love To Read!

Finished this...sooooo disturbingly good...such deliciously flawed characters...such a surprise of an ending.

Reading one of these next...

Without making any kind of declaration to myself I have been quietly reading what I want to read...without thinking about what I "should" be reading...no deadlines...just pure reading enjoyment. I am slowly learning...often by the examples of others...that it's easy to let some of this go. I get amazing enjoyment from books and my blog...but I am sure that you notice that I don't often just put a review on my blog. Oh my, though, I write reviews of everything I read...they are on my beloved Amazon, Goodreads, Librarything , FB, and Twitter. I mostly just like talking about books here...what I am reading and what I want to read...that is how I roll, lately. I am consciously flying through emails...no longer obsessively reading every new book review...oh my...I can't say the same about clothes, shoes and bags...but it's a start...lol!

Lives change...we are contemplating a life change...on Den's part...my life does not need a change...lol...that will free us...give us more time to have fun and just be together. For most of our married life Den has traveled...internationally...he is so tired of it...the schedules, the pressure, the planes...I didn't understand this at first but I now do and I am looking forward to it! Yeah, Den! I am! More movies...more lunches out...more day trips! Yippee! I love my little family!

Just A Pleasant Monday!

OMG...I am in book love with this book...it's written in a sort of flashback way but without dates...so as I am reading I began saying to myself...oh...yes...and...I see!

My focus this month seems to be YA...here are a few of them...they are a mix of love, fantasy, thriller and creepy! Yum!

The Best Laid Plans!

Last night's dinner did not happen last night but hopefully it will happen tonight!

With one small addition...lol!

Den came in from doing yard work after three o'clock and was STARVING...so we munched on chips and queso and salsa...which meant we were not a bit hungry later...but we did eat our apple things which were amazing...they were like apple crisp in a puffed pastry...OMG!

Today...after a trip to get newspapers...he brought these home! Help me, please! It's like a baby decadent chocolate something or other! I am almost afraid of this...the only thing I said to Den was...if he stopped at our fave local place for coffee and they had something pumpkinish...get one...my poor boy did not want to come home empty handed so he bought these! No pumpkin but masses of chocolate...sigh!

Finished this...so good...essentially a group of ordinary people have to take down a godlike indestructible dude...Steelheart...to avenge many deaths and set this world straight...it's very exciting, fun to read, has awesome scary characters and would make a great movie!

Reading this now...and it's a total change of pace...a British family and an event that alters everyone's lives. The "event" occurs as a mom is driving her two children to school on a very foggy morning...they are late...they take a different road...they see a little girl riding a red bicycle. Whatever happens is treated as though nothing happened so far but I have just started this book. I love the writing and I believe that this author also wrote The Unlikely Pilgrimage Of Harold Fry.

So...football is on...Den is napping...and we are in for the day...I absolutely hate running around on Sunday. Our little family likes to stay at home!

Happy reading!

Saturday At Home!

There is something about a beautiful fall day that makes me want to relax, watch television and read. For some odd reason I am watching Blade...I think because of the vampire special that was on last night. Later we will watch Grimm and Dracula!

I am settled in the family room with Steelheart and Blade...lol...my Saturday chores are done...Den is on the deck cleaning off the deck furniture and putting it away...there are spiders...ick...and stink bugs hiding everywhere plus we found a wasp nest under a wicker coffee table...plus there are little black bugs sticking onto the house...what is going on with bugs in the fall?

We were supposed to go out but we don't want to...so this is dinner and it could not be easier.

Pasta...look at all the shapes in one box!

Yummy sauce...I will thaw and cook it!

Meatballs from our country butcher...I will bake them.

Salad...I will toss it.

Dessert...I am not quite sure what this is...but it looks really pretty plus all I have to do is open it! It's sort of a pastry apple something or other!

All I have to do is sort of thaw and heat...lol...and wait for Den to finish all of his outside stuff.

Back to Blade!

The Candy Dilemma...Part 2! The Leftovers!

In spite of telling myself we had enough candy...Den worried and stopped to buy two more small bags. We barely had ten trick or treaters. We also had to make certain one of us actually held Roxie while the other opened the door. At least I thought that was our plan. When Den answered the door I caught and held Roxie...when I answered the door he yelled she is coming...she is on her way to the front door so I was forced to slam the door shut on people and wait while we had her in hand. Den's excuse was she was way too fast for him. I know how to catch her and won't open a door until I have her in my arms. I had nightmares of this tiny thing getting outside...OMG...I can't even think about it...seriously. An hour earlier she escaped into the garage and we were in panic mode. Den continues to believe that she will not go out an open door if you are standing there...silly foolish boy! She was under the cars while he was yelling for her. He beeped the car horn which only freaked her out even more. She started crying and crying but was too afraid to come back in! Garage doors were closed so it was just a matter of calming down and getting her to us...but her cries were so heartbreaking! We are having way too much kitty drama lately!

Reading this...this...and this! So unlike me!

I sort of stopped reading my Helen West...three in a row is over the top even for me...
the middle book is a YA and one I need to review and Steelheart is one I bought and the one that has totally captured my attention! It is so good!

I am taking today off! Books...games...kitties...puzzles...no cooking either!

Happy reading!
