Reading one of these next...
Without making any kind of declaration to myself I have been quietly reading what I want to read...without thinking about what I "should" be reading...no deadlines...just pure reading enjoyment. I am slowly learning...often by the examples of others...that it's easy to let some of this go. I get amazing enjoyment from books and my blog...but I am sure that you notice that I don't often just put a review on my blog. Oh my, though, I write reviews of everything I read...they are on my beloved Amazon, Goodreads, Librarything , FB, and Twitter. I mostly just like talking about books here...what I am reading and what I want to read...that is how I roll, lately. I am consciously flying through emails...no longer obsessively reading every new book review...oh my...I can't say the same about clothes, shoes and bags...but it's a start...lol!
Lives change...we are contemplating a life change...on Den's part...my life does not need a change...lol...that will free us...give us more time to have fun and just be together. For most of our married life Den has traveled...internationally...he is so tired of it...the schedules, the pressure, the planes...I didn't understand this at first but I now do and I am looking forward to it! Yeah, Den! I am! More movies...more lunches out...more day trips! Yippee! I love my little family!
Happy Reading!
Ooooo exciting. I can't wait to hear what this change is.
ReplyDeleteChange can be life-affirming....and I also like how you are enjoying reading what you want, when you want. I hope to get around to that after my last blog tour on the 14th. Yes, I definitely want it to be the last, as I really hate deadlines.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm giving up the group blog at the end of the year...same reason. Getting away from deadlines.
Enjoy!
Patty, 'The Whole Golden World' sound like a warm and cozy novel to me...or am I wrong? Roxy and Lucy are soooo adorable! ~smiles~
ReplyDeleteSounds like an exciting time! Good luck with everything! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah for Den! It sounds like this change will be good for the whole family. :) Best of luck!
ReplyDeleteI am also happy you are reading what you want to read. Go Patty!

Changes can be exciting. Jill and I are so enjoying retirement, mainly because we both went together. She spends her mornings writing (well editing as she wants to get her next book out by Black Friday) and we spend so much time discussing this one. Lunches and trips to the dump together are just icing on the cake. Embrace it and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bill...we will!

ReplyDeleteChange can be exciting. Jill and I so so enjoying retirement. I think it is mainly because we went together. Trips to the beach, morning spent editing her new book, and trips to the dump together are just some of the things we couldn't do if we were still working. It is absolutely the best. Embrace it and enjoy!
