Salad Days?

It is amazing that we were kind of cold last week but have been thrust into the midst of a heatwave yesterday and today. My hydrangea bushes are actually wilting when the sun is on them and then they pop up again in the afternoon...so far!

I love hydrangeas!

All I want to eat this week are cold things. Salads...sorbet...lemonade!

Especially Den's Lemonade that he fills with tons of grated frozen fresh lemon...so good!

What I think I want to read...

this heat makes me yearn for dysfunction...this book is out in case you want to be dysfunctional along with me! Thank you, NetGalley!

Personally...

I am a little sad, a little lost, a little bereft...but that's to be expected because I am basically sitting around waiting for my hair to grow. I really truly am. Chemo brings its own big bag of dysfunction. My mantra is one day at a time.

Hugs,

Patty

  1. I love salads all year long and am well known for the ones I make. I think Den and I could make a great one together. We should open a salad restaurant! lol

Your hair will grow back soon and be stunningly gorgeous!

  2. Imagine that your hair will grow in curly...or a different color...or something else that will please you.

Love those salads! The People We Hate at the Wedding sounds like it could have been written for my large dysfunctional family. LOL.

  4. I'm sorry your hair's not growing fast enough for you, but it will grow. Keep up your treadmill walking. I heard sweating makes hair grow. That romaine lettuce salad looks really good. I like how it's all laid out. And man, kudos to Den on freshly grating lemons!

    1. My head feels fuzzy and I will be hitting that treadmill even harder now! Den loves grating lemons...especially when they are frozen...then we refreeze them in ice cube trays.

  5. Good mantra. Den's lemonade sounds fabulous! Lately I've been mixing it in with iced tea (an Arnold Palmer!). I've been curious about the book you're reading and will watch GR for your thoughts.

My dream is to always have a freshly stocked salad bar in my house. Like the one at Whole Foods. Wouldn't that be amazing?
