Finished this...it's amazing but you have to love Julie Kagawa and all of her YA fantasies...this one is all about dragons and dragon wars and people changing into dragons and then back again...it sounds trite but it's a truly brilliant series...
In the middle of this one...also YA...I think...but Jill and her best friend were in Italy with a study group when a terrible accident occurred...Jill has no memories of it but her wealthy father has whisked her injured body back to the US while things get figured out...great writing...great premise...it's just a really good book.
Today...we woke up to rain...gentle rain...my plants are doing beautifully with all of this gentle watering. I couldn't sleep last night so I left our room and wandered down to the bedroom at the end of the hall. In our bedroom I can never really hear the rain fall because of our high ceilings but in the way down the hall room I could hear it and the bed is right below big double windows so it was like waking up in a tree house. It was quite a surprise to find that Roxie followed me and was cuddled next to me...sound asleep. Den hates when I do this but when I am restless I just need to find my own little spot...and either watch TV or read to fall asleep! Roxie seems to have a sort of sixth sense when it comes to finding me! It's soooo sweet.
This is a low key week end...just staying around town and relaxing.

Cute, snuggled up pic. Roxie is a purebred, yeah? One of my peeps bought one last year as her husband grew up with Siamese cats in Arizona. The kitten traveled all the way from Texas to CA and what a pretty penny that was. Sorry you were restless. I get like that too at times when I can't sleep well. Send us your rain. We are roasting with the 90's weather all this week. Oh, and I am SO intrigued about this Talon series. I read the first her The Iron Fey but that was some time ago.
ReplyDeleteYes...Roxie is a mischievous purebred Tonkinese...you get a Tonk from a Burmese and a Siamese...Roxie was actually born in CA...near San Francisco...and flown to us! She is an in your face kitty...if you were here or your girls...she would be in your laps looking at your faces...constantly...I think you would like This series...Julie Kagawa is awesome!
DeleteI have to get up like that and wander around some nights too and have even ended up on the sofa. You can't hear the rain in our bedroom either - how weird is that? Roxie looks all snuggled up in that picture.
