Flowers...Foods...Books!

Flowers!

We went to Lowe's and also to a farm near us and these are the only flowers that I could use! I have a set color scheme...pinks, blues, purples, a few yellows...I know...this is more than a few yellows but I was desperate! There has been so much rain and cool weather here that lots of plants seem sort of scraggly and scrappy to me...plus...I get sort of set in my ways with flowers...I need a big fern under the front portico and big flowers in the big green pots near them...I need lots more but we may drive to Lancaster tomorrow and try some Amish nurseries there. Lowe's was really kind of sad and disappointing and so was the farm... so hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for finding flowers!

I remain hopeful!

Den is outside potting them right now!

Foods!

Epicurious just posted these...ham, Gruyere cheese, cream and eggs...yummy! Baked in muffin cups!

Food 52 posted these fudgey brownies on Facebook...

Chili Cornbread Casserole from Emily Bites...it's chili baked into cornbread! I can't even believe it!

Slow Cooker Chicken Fajita Nachos from Food Envy...I really want to make these!

Books!

Getting ready to start this one...

From Goodreads...

The Sudden Appearance of Hope is the tale of the girl no one remembers. But this gripping story – of love and loss, of hope and despair, of living in the moment and dying to leave a mark – is a novel that will stay with you for ever.

I am off to check on Den's work with my plants!

Hugs,

Patty

    1. It's kind of difficult to get everything the way we like it but we take photos and keep charts!

  3. Those flowers are so pretty. The cornbread dish sounds interesting...would it be soggy, though?

    1. I haven't tried it yet but I don't think so...I think it will be more cake like? I will let you know!

  4. Those dishes look good. I wonder though do the chips get soggy in the slow cooker? That's one thing about nachos I don't like, the chips get soft. I'd rather make the mix and then use fresh chips to scoop. Can't wait to see the flower handiwork.

    1. You don't put the chips in the slow cooker. The slow cooker is just for the chicken part. You build the nachos just the way you ordinarily would.
