Ok...loving this book and it is not Historical Fiction as I thought...no clue why I thought that...but it's lovely and it is about a family of midwives although I have to say some of the midwifery baby delivering stuff is not fun to read...sigh! Birthing pools? Birthing balls? Pulling out your own baby? TMI...
I will finish this one later today.
That's it for me on a Friday...tidying up...making Jamie Oliver's creamy mushrooms on toast for Den for lunch and the pasta Chef Tom Colichio made on the Today Show for dinner...pasta, broccoli, ham, Parmesano Reggiano cheese...pretty much all done in one pot! Love one pot suppers on a cold Friday night!
I leave you with this thought...
I miss wide pasta. I used to love to just serve it with butter, shaved parm and toasted pine nuts. They don't make wide gluten free pasta, yet. I know the shape has nothing to do with taste really, but I do believe the wider surface area catches the butter better :)
ReplyDeleteMice, in your grill? My son had a mouse in the choir room that was eating music sheets. He was told to capture it with a trap so he built a humane one but when he caught the mouse, there were babies too and now they all live in the choir room.
You are nicer than I am - I would want those mice out of there!!
ReplyDeleteHere is a website about "mouse treats" oh lord you have to get rid of those things!

They can be dangerous to the girls too if the bring friends in the house.
I think they will stay in the grill?
DeleteWe had a tiny field mouse in our last home in upstate New York. We used a humane trap, caught him (her?) and released it behind our woodpile out back and put some crumbs there to encourage it to stay there. We had cats and the cats never caught it or tried to kill it either.
ReplyDeleteLove that pasta dish for your dinner. I've made something similar: sometimes I use turkey kielbasa cubed-up and sauteed in olive oil, with broccoli, cheese tortellini, and freshly grated parmesan. Yum!

DeleteOooh...I love the sound of that pasta, too!
DeleteBe very careful or you will have an infestation in no time! We get field mice and deer mice nesting in the garage occasionally. When I had hip surgery, I could not drive. A mouse moved into my car!
ReplyDeleteI cannot stand mice....I would have evicted them! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe food looks good...and I enjoyed The Secrets of Midwives...but there were some parts that were not pleasant...
Feeding mice?! Girl, you are too kind! Off with them, I say...lol...I'm scared of them. Pulling out you own baby?!? That's possible?!? Pushing--- yes. Pulling?!? Sounds freaky scary! Lol...Whew!
ReplyDeleteI've had four kids and that still sounds like too much information for me! Lol.
