This is my remembering day...my dad...fisherman, gardener, animal lover...he would do anything to win over Lucy who always only wanted my mom...
My mom...gentle, sweet, funny, fussy...I can still remember how good the sheets in my room smelled...
Den's mom and dad...social, sweet, travelers. Den's mom was an amazing cook...his dad loved deals...the art of the deal was his thing.
The men...helping their dad when he needed them.
My dad...he always told me I was his first love...and he is mine forever.
Peace!
Wonderful post. There are days I miss my mom like crazy... and my dad... and my sister. What I wouldn't give to have them for one more day at a dinner table just catching up of where I have been and what I have done these past too many years.
ReplyDeleteOh I know...I totally agree with you! Thank you so much!
DeleteI love when you do these kinds of posts. They take me back too...We're all sisters sharing the same experiences...Peace and Remembrance!
ReplyDeleteJune...that is so sweet!
DeleteI really miss talking on the phone with my mom. Toward the end, she couldn't hear well enough to do this any longer, and it was such a loss. She hated the hearing aid. Also...the scents of her kitchen and her smile.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
There is always something special about moms...
DeleteOh yes, I have days just like that. Carl's mother is not doing well right now and it's really making me think about my dad a lot.
ReplyDeleteI think all it takes is one failing parent and you sort of feel the loss of all of them.
DeleteWhat a beautiful post and tribute to both of your parents. It brought tears to my eyes. Such wonderful people who have left you with memories of good times together! Thanks for sharing them with us. :)

Thank you....it made me cry, too!
DeleteAwwwwwwwwwwwww
ReplyDeleteI love it.
I miss my dad too.
He was so strong and funny and sarcastic.
Lovely post. I miss my husband's grandparents. I, of course. had grandparents but never knew them so they were the first set that I called my own. I miss going to their house for Sunday dinners.
