I am not going to write a review of Hunger Games. I am just going to say that it was such a mesmerizing book. As I wrote in an earlier post...I didn't really get it when everyone else was reading it. And the posts of readers spending an entire day reading Mocking Jay...did not even begin to stir any interest in this series. I just finished the first book...loved it and am now reading the next one. Suzanne Collins is a tremendous writer, she is a genius...I would compare her creativity to some of my favorite young adult authors including J. K. Rowlings and Stephenie Meyer and Diana Peterfreund and Maggie Stiefvater. It was just a thought provoking book. I read about events that were appalling to me and ate up every word. I cheered and praised the bravery of Katniss and the character of Peeta and I am anxious to find out what is in store for them and the people of District 12.
The series a a whole is worth reading. It's fun and entertaining and sometimes you just need that. Enjoy it!! I tried to post a comment before this one but it was lost in the ether so if you get two from me, that's why.
ReplyDeleteMy husband loved this book but I haven't read it yet. I'm beginning to think I'll be the last person in the world to experience it.
ReplyDeleteI know...I thought that I didn't even need to read it...how wrong I was...
ReplyDeleteI've only read Hunger Games but next weekend I plan on finishing this series up during the 24 Hour RAT!
