I just finished reading 13 To Life. It was excellent. It was a mystery ridden book. I loved it. I loved the characters. I loved the dogs. I loved the horses. I loved the Russian werewolves. I even loved the little Russian dolls that you open and another one comes out and you keep on opening until a teeny tiny one is left. There just has to be a sequel. It had just about everything in it that a perfect YA Fantasy book should have. It even had perfect mean girls and tons of unrequited love.
It was a really great book.
This is not really a review today but rather a short and sweet comment or two. It is too hot outside to think. It is too hot to even be outside. I feel as though the heat is making summer slip by. It is too hot to leisurely sit on the shady deck and read. It is actually too hot to even grill. We have been eating lovely cool salads for dinner. The house is lovely and cool but I yearn to be outside. We are not enjoying yard work or the veggies and flowers growing in the garden. We sort of race outside to feed the birds and glance at the garden. It also seems to be pouring rain when it isn't devastatingly hot. I don't think I like a hot hot humid summer. No cold fronts seem to be nearby. The weatherman said that tomorrow it will be 100 degrees and feel as though it is 106 degrees. How can this happen? This is the East Coast barely an hour from beaches...but it is happening and I just have to get used to it.
It's sweltering here too but we haven't had rain in ages. The ponds in our neighborhood are really low.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great book. I have on of the Russian dolls. I even bought it in Russia. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely not hot here. But it's a lot warmer than it was when I was camping. ;)
It was really good...and just different enough...the Russian dolls play an interesting role in this story.
ReplyDeleteKathy...I know...I used to love summers when you wore shorts at night and threw on a sweatshirt at night...but my husband has been putting the thermostat at 68 at night...I just cover up and enjoy the chill...
