Santa was in our neighborhood this morning at 9:30! One more cup of coffee and we are hitting the Christmas bins! I was upstairs screaming at him from our bedroom window...he is waving directly at me!




The next time I arrange olives...cheeses and cornichon...this has my name on it...but The Kitchn thought of it first...lol...

All Is Well In My World Today...

Checking in...

right now I am watching Den sleep...he came in from the "wilds" of Minnesota after midnight last night...today is a slow moving kind of day...thus the slow cooker dinner! Perfect...don't you think? It is filling the house with amazing smells...it's a roast with sautéed onion, pancetta, carrots and celery...simmering in red wine and a can of Italian tomatoes...it's actually called Italian roast beef and it is freaky delicious. I will either make some tiny buttered shells or polenta to eat with it later. Because it almost forms a rich red sauce...it's from an amazing cookbook I have called The Italian Slowcooker.






Still immersed in the world of the Silvers and the Reds...so good...





As soon as Den wakes up we will finish watching the Hobbit...the newer one...my foray into fantasy over the holidays is deep...very deep! But I really hate Orks!



I appreciate your thoughts about Lucy so much...she is eating a bit but she has lost so much weight...she looks a little rough right now...my sweet baby...she has always had such soft lush shiny fur...Tonks are known for that...and her walk is a bit shaky...but for now...she is better...and still alive...which is the best part.

Just A Quick Fly By...

Finished this...interesting but not overwhelmingly so...




Just started this...I started it before but I wasn't in the mood for it but now that I am into it...it is awesome...sort of a Katniss, Graceling, War Of The Worlds kind of book that I unexplainably love. The premise of this book...is that there are Red Blooded people and Silver Blooded people...and Silvers rule! Until one girl ( there is my Katniss reference ) steps in and changes things...


Happy Thursday! Den is finally on his way home from the wilds of Minnesota...and...whispering this and quietly praying...Lucy is eating...we are optimistic and realistic at the same time...so this is good...for now...

Life...

I think I am going to take a break from blogging for a bit...I don't want to bore anyone with my sadness...Lucy is not doing well...she simply refuses to eat. She has had fluids and shots and appetite stimulants...I have tried sardines, tuna, turkey baby food...Roxie Blue and I have developed quite a taste for turkey baby food...lol...

But all Lucy has eaten in days is bananas and yogurt...and not very much of that. The next step is an ultrasound and forced feeding but I think Den and I can't go there.

I cling to Lucy because she is a link to my mom and dad...I know that sounds weird but she loved my mom and loved their house...we have a few days to think about things...but nothing looks bright right now...she has lost weight just from last Wednesday and both of us are tired of going to the vet...both of us are just tired...I just want to do what is best for her...watching her constantly turn away from food is killing me...seriously...

Tuesday's Thoughts...

Finished this...not one I loved...


Tempted to start this...my 361st book this year...sigh...I am a little bit tired of reading...


Lucy won't eat...so we were at the vet's today...she will eat bananas, cantaloupe and Greek yogurt...but not her food...blood work, fluids, and an appetite stimulant plus tons of advice from other Tonkinese owners on the Tonk Breeder FB page...she still won't eat anything substantial...

Went to lunch with my besties today...I needed cheering up!
