Sunday's Stories...

I love when Den goes to church and after church stops at Talulah's Table for a slice of frittata and either a cinnamon roll or their special coffee cake...except that today he brought home the one frittata that I pretty much dislike in a big way but...shhhh...let's not tell him...








He always "surprises" me with a latte from Philter...so smooth and creamy...






Now I am reading this...a little YA...a little time travel...a lot of fun...






There is no serious football here until 4:30 when the world stands still for the Denver Broncos...so...we are finishing up the Mr. Banks movie...the one about P.L.Travers...author of Mary Poppins? Wow...she was quite unusual...and it sounds as though she was not a very nice lady. When she was 40 she adopted one brother from a set of twins...the family begged her to adopt both but she refused...and both brothers were pretty much a mess when they found out years later...

Saturday's Schedule!

So...after days of running around...we are enjoying a few days of the opposite...no running around...today is College Football Day! Well...for one of us...which is fine. We even cancelled dinner out...I can't imagine eating out right now...ick!

Love this book...I just got it last week...



We are having these tonight. Everything is roasted on one pan! Fajitas! Ole! A total change from turkey! I have handmade corn tortillas and Greek Yogurt ( we never buy sour cream any more ) and fresh avocados! Dinner! A nice stay at home simple Saturday dinner...I love this book!






Finishing this...which is so good...I am beginning to think that I love historical fiction, murder and mayhem...as long as there is a snappy character like Poppy March involved!

Fab Fun Friday...

We are not shopping today...I am sitting here listening to Den tell me we are 27 minutes away from a turkey sandwich...not a big sandwich but two little sandwiches on something called a Snowflake Roll...from Whole Foods! I have not had an acquaintance with Snowflake Rolls until this Thanksgiving! They have a powdery snow like dusting on them! Who knew? So...back to the sandwiches...turkey white meat, avocado slice, olive oil mayo...a spear pickle and chips on the side! Oh me, oh my!







Our table yesterday...while we waited for the turkey to get warmer...






Our turkey still looks whole from one side! I am going to slowcook the bones into a Turkey Bone Broth! Have you seen this or tried it yet? Bones, ginger, apple cider vinegar...it's delicious to sip! I bought some from Whole Foods but I want to make La Fugi Mama's recipe. The Pacific one was really good...very warming!







Still reading The Silent Sister...almost finished. It is soooooo good!

Thursday's Thoughts!

I am sitting on the sofa...sort of reading, watching football and playing on my ipad. Our dinner is planned and under control. I am listening to the sounds of Den emptying the dishwasher!
There's snow outside and everything looks beautiful!

I would love to take this day to thank all of my friends...near and far...new and old...for talking and texting and emailing and chatting...all the things we do to stay connected!

Wednesday's Woes!!!

Ok...so we opted to stay home because if we drove to Ohio we would be driving through horrible weather...major snow...for hours...so we ordered a cooked turkey and drove through this today to get it...this was the start of the snow. Now...we have snow everywhere! And...Janssen's...the most beloved specialty store ever...forgot to cook our turkey! Totally their fault...they were so sweet but they forgot! So...they are cooking it and then delivering it to us...in tons of snow! If they are not able to get here we are having stuffing and pie for dinner! And gravy! Isn't it all about the gravy?








Sipping this...the directions say that when the milk is steaming the cocoa will ACCEPT the chocolate mixture perfectly! And it did!






Yum!





Reading this...sooooooo good! Every word is sooooooooo good!
