Miscellany?

Love this book...this author has a way of weaving characters in the past as well as the present that is totally addictive. This is the story of Annabelle during WWII. She loves Stefan...a married Jewish man...but marries Johann...a German man with possible ties to Nazis. It's interwoven with the more current Pepper's story...pregnant single Pepper. I can't begin to tell you how good this book is. Pepper and Annabelle are connected because of an old classic Mercedes.

Flu fighting soup? Keeping this one on file...from baker by nature.
Elderberry syrup from Maine Medicinals? I just ordered a bottle...I will do anything to keep flu away...rumored to build up your autoimmune system?
This is a toothbrush! I think it's what people chew on Survivor! I just bought a pack! They are supposed to whiten your teeth, too!
Cool fall sweater...Free People...
Sharing a snack...on my desk...sharing a bed...for 5 minutes...I do not get how sweet Lucy can be to Roxie and then minutes later growl and hiss at her. My poor sweet Roxie falls for this every time. I love my Lucy but I think she enjoys having this kind of power over Roxie.
Fighting time...wink wink!
Why we don't go to the Mushroom Festival...crowds, heat, crowds!
It is a gorgeous day today. Den is taking Lucy to cold laser in a moment...is the irritation worth helping her arthritic knees? She has been zooming around the house...jumping almost the way she used to...we put glucosamine in her food, too, so I don't have a clue what's helping...she doesn't limp any more but even the vet doesn't know what is helping. Sigh! Our little area will be a mess this week end...there are festivals every where. We are staying very close to home all weekend long but with open windows, cooler air, and tons of football ( Den ) and books ( me )...and a short trip next week...we don't really care!
See you on Monday! Have a great weekend!
Fondly...
Patty

    1. I know! You have to chew the ends to get bristles! Right now it's soaking for four hours to get soft!

  4. Fun stuff! I am bleary-eyed this morning, having stayed up until 3:30 a.m. watching Mad Men, final season....the seven episodes that are on Netflix...and my son, who arrived with his wife last night, tells me there are seven more....and I just Googled them. Now I can't wait until they show up on Netflix. Can you say obsessed?

  5. Love Beatriz Williams! Is this another new book, or a reissue of an older one? A Hundred Sumers was amazing and I have The Secret Life of Violet Grant waiting on my shelf. Enjoy the rest of the weekend :)

  6. Nice.... miscellany! :) A little bit of this and that. Glad the treatment is helping Lucy. She is just asserting her senior rights over Roxie because she's older. Females do get like that with each other sometimes.
Your photo has me craving blueberry jam now! Then I can use my Survivor wooden toothbrush to clean my teeth, yay!
