Lights Were Out!

It seemed like forever but I think we lost power for only an hour or two...just before dinner...which was in the slow cooker and was fine.

Thank goodness for backlit iPads...I was able to finish Insurgent and everything electric popped back on in time for the news.

This is what we did! Because of course we don't have a generator or anything other than mood candles! We are so practical!

I am enamored with my slow cooker this time of year...yesterday I made Stuffed Pepper Soup...if you love stuffed peppers...this soup tasted just like stuffed peppers...yummy!

Today I am making another Pinterest recipe...Rotisserie Chicken In A Slow Cooker!
Oh boy!

Since I finished this...and oh my was it paced...nail biting...will it be a movie?

I am deciding what to read next...and Sept. 18th was a great...uh release day! Thank you Amazon Kindle preorders that I am addicted to!

I am wishing for a calm, no wind, no thundering pelting rain kind of day!
And if it's not too much to ask...I wish the power would stay on! We reset clocks, lights, etc. three times yesterday!

Have a lovely Wednesday!

  1. Oh, I do hate power outages...but it sounds like it added to the ambience....and I'm glad your dinner and reading were not "destroyed" in the process.

Stuffed pepper soup? I love stuffed peppers, so this does sound wonderful.

An enjoyable evening, except, of course, for having to reset the clocks, etc.

  2. Being without power is such a pain. We used to lose it all the time when we lived in Auburn. We've been here 5 years and haven't lost it yet. *knock on wood* I vote for The Diviners.

    1. I know...I hate it...The Diviners it is!

  3. Stuffed pepper soup? Do share! And thank goodness for time to read. I love that about power outages, it encourages everyone to just chill.

  4. Divergent has been optioned for a movie. It is due to come out in 2015! Yikes!

  5. I agree with Bermuda Onion. The Diviners! I've been wanting to read it since I heard Libba Bray was writing it. I'm still trying to finish her first series: A Great and Terrible Beauty...I think that's the almost passed out reading Ti's post above. 2015?! The world may not be here by then at the rate things are going...we'll see!

  6. Glad the power wasn't off for too long! I have a slow cooker that we are just learning how to use. We got into it last winter and look forward to more recipes in the fall. (So, any day now). All the books look fantastic! Yeah!

  7. I hate power out, too...but sometimes it bring such charm in the evening when you can light the candles and stay cozy :)
