Over The Weekend...

I finished this...I actually could not put this book down. I don't think I loved this book but rather I compulsively read it. It's truly about what a totally insensitive and cruel father will do when he wants to get his son ranked as the number one tennis player in the world. It also had landmarks in my part of the country so the book was even more fascinating.

I am still reading as well as loving this huge fantasy...

New books!!! All of this week's books are from Amazon, NetGalley and Edelweiss.

"Over the course of one momentous day, two women who have built their lives around the same man find themselves moving toward an inevitable reckoning."

“With breathtaking urgency, Chevalier brings Othello to a 1970s suburban elementary school outside Washington, D.C., where the playground is as rife with poisonous intrigue as any monarch’s court… Chevalier’s brilliantly concentrated and galvanizing improvisation thoroughly exposes the malignancy and tragedy of racism, sexism, jealousy, and fear.” —Booklist

“The queen of beach books” (The Star-Ledger) returns to the shores of Nantucket in a novel about one memorable summer when flirtations flourish, family dramas play out, and scandalous secrets surface.

"A shocking discovery and chilling secrets converge in this latest novel from New York Times bestselling author Heather Gudenkauf"

"The New York Times bestselling author of A Certain Age transports readers to sunny Florida in this lush and enthralling historical novel—an enchanting blend of love, suspense, betrayal, and redemption set among the rumrunners and scoundrels of Prohibition-era Cocoa Beach."

It's a beautiful day here on the East Coast! If I wasn't still in my self imposed exile I would want to go to the beach...just to look at it and come home again...but soon!

Hugs,

Patty

  1. I love it when a book has landmarks that are familiar to me! I've known people who tried to mold a trophy son or trophy daughter so Trophy Son sounds good to me.

  4. I just finished an audiobook that had landmarks familiar to me. It was cool. Thank you for likin' my cards. Sometimes I feel I can do a bit better on a few but I'm generally pleased with the majority. I have two I need to make this week.
