Flowers...An Oasis...And Sleepy Kitties...

Flowers...

We still have pots to fill and normally that is my job and I love doing it but not this year. So Den is potting everything and he gets to choose his flower faves...I only draw the line at reds and oranges...no reds...no oranges...probably ever. So we have just a few more pots to go and then we are tucking zinnias everywhere in all of the beds! That will happen tomorrow!

Planting scenes...

Those are itty bitty duck heads! They are waiting for us to leave so they can eat.

Den's beloved marigolds...

More planting...

Kindle Oasis...

Although I don't see a huge difference yet...I love my newest Kindle...it's more compact, holds a charge much longer and and has really cool page flippers!

Reading this...loved her first book!

Love these sleepy kitty faces...

Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Patty

Even More Rain Today!

Den and I both woke up at 4:30 this morning and for some odd and unknown reason began watching HBO's Wizard Of Lies...we watched the other one that starred Richard Dreyfus and didn't think we wanted to watch any more but this was on and we watched it ( we could not sleep ) and Bernie Madoff seems to be an unfeeling creep no matter who plays him. Seriously.

Finished this...it was ok but after a while these characters just get too over the top and ridiculous.

This drippy dreary rainy day is making us not too happy here. Lucy and Den are off to the vet...I can't even tell the vet what's wrong without crying...I am crying over everything lately. I can't even take my own crying and I still can't stop crying! Sigh!

Anticipating reading this next...

Or this...this one looks eerily good!

So...

Have a great weekend...stay safe and happy...read lots!

Hugs,

Patty

So...It's Wednesday...And Almost Sunny!

Yesterday my kindle broke! I think I go through kindles the way some people go through...ok...I can't think of anything that people go through! Shoes? Cereal? Shampoo? Yikes!

I have a paperwhite...Den has a paperwhite...I think the one I bought yesterday is my fourth kindle. Amazon is always gracious...they help out with a discount...I don't think they like getting them sent back...my kindle stopped charging so I got the newest one...I love gadgets...I can't wait to start reading on this one...better print, longer charge and different page turners! I love gadgets...I only hate when a new version comes out too soon after I buy what I think is the latest version.

Sort of enjoying this book...but again...beach books just aren't doing it for me the way they used to...I am already mad at one husband and find the other husband kind of annoying. Actually really annoying...

Today is a blood test day and a visit with the happy Oncology nurses! I can complain about how tired I am and they will both say...of course you are tired you poor sweet thing ( I probably added that )...Saint Den is into telling me to man up lately but I really do need to man up...I am running out of shoulders to cry on...and I don't want a rep as a cryer...sigh! Everything is harder right now...I am trying to "man up" but I am not manning up enough!

Off to rest and read and look forward to my new kindle...

Hugs,

Patty

Back To The Beach...

Reading this...and it's really fun...

Also reading this...it's really good, too...kind of English mystery good.

It is still so dreary outside...seriously dreary...it's wet and rainy and chilly and it's not fun to dodge out in between rain showers to plant a few pots of flowers...whatever happened to spring?

I think that we are going to binge watch tv this afternoon and make a Sheet Pan dinner for dinner...from Julie's Eats And Treats...chicken, asparagus, potatoes! Yum!

Everyone in our house seems in a bad mood...especially Lucy and Den. Lucy is jumping up on furniture and just sitting and staring at me and then climbing on me...Den didn't sleep well so he is out of sorts...today is Visiting Nurse Day so I can't start anything until the Visiting Nurse leaves...the only happy family member is Roxie...and she is ignoring all of us.

Hugs,

Patty

Yikes!

I am going to have to do something about the structure of my blog and soon. My beloved blogsy is literally falling apart! But I am not going to think about this one until later...very much later! I think I have to go to Wordpress but that is a scary thought. Sigh!

Books...

Finishing this...YA, dystopian and very techy but it's really good. I was sent the second one and I never read the first one until now. I am really glad I did read it...because it's fast paced and quite yummy...

New books...

From Vine...description from Amazon...

"A community comes together when threatened by someone with a thirst for revenge in this stunningly intricate, tautly plotted novel of rich psychological suspense from the New York Times bestselling author of the Mary Russell mysteries."

From Vine...description from Amazon...
"A juicy, powerful read featuring twin sisters who have drifted apart, and the shocking family secrets that bind them—for readers of The Woman in Cabin 10 and I Let You Go"
G

From Edelweiss...

"

“The Cottingley Secret tells the tale of two girls who somehow convince the world that magic exists. An artful weaving of old legends with new realities, this tale invites the reader to wonder: could it be true?” ( Kate Alcott, New York Times bestselling author of The Dressmaker )

And a yummy new book by this fave author!
From Edelweiss...
"Following the success of IF YOU ONLY KNEW and ON SECOND THOUGHT comes the highly anticipated new novel by New York Times bestselling author Higgins; a funny and bittersweet story of a woman who returns to her hometown after a decade's absence hoping to resuscitate her relationship with her family, only to discover that her homecoming is not as welcome as she had imagined."

Today could not be a more dreary day! It is dark, rainy and even chilly. It's a cleaning day...a reading day...a dull day...yesterday we planted quite few pots of flowers...we almost got the entire front finished but not quite. I am a fast planter...Den is a meticulously slow planter. He begged me to sit and just watch him...so I did! We are trying to get to a place about an hour away from us called Eve's Garden...a dear friend told us about it...we will get there soon. I need new wreaths and these look amazing! I want everything in that shop! Thanks, Liz, for telling us about it!

Off to sip tea and then start my day!

Hugs,

Patty
