What A Day!

All we basically did today was change duvet covers and watch TV. I think Den sneezed about 1,000 times. He is miserable. I think everyone on the East Coast is miserable. Even our doctor is sick. Den has a prescription but it probably won't do any good. He hasn't even filled it. Our doctor said to eat oranges and drink orange juice. Den peeled and ate a bowl full of citrus.

Roxie is enjoying the new duvet cover. She thinks we bought it for her.
Lucy kind of likes the new duvet, too. They have abandoned their beds for ours.

Books...

I think I am abandoning this one...I just don't like it.

Up next?

No clue...I think I want to not read tonight and think about my choice later! Probably back to this one...

We are supposed to have snow all night long! Lots of football this weekend and I need to make The Barefoot Contessa's Chicken Soup tomorrow. It just might save Den.

Have a great week end!

Hugs,

Patty

Today...

Everyone around me is sleeping and Den is sick and trying to stay away from me! But my white blood count is way up after two weeks without chemo so he can stay around me. I am getting Neulasta today for the first time and hopefully that will make my cells even better...yesterday I had stronger chemo so that's why I can have Neulasta...I have no clue if that's good or bad. I am pretty much afraid of everything lately. I still cry...I still worry...I still get sad. Other than reading I am not the same Me and I am not sure if that Me will ever come back...sigh!

Books...

I read the first few pages of The Futures and loved it.

However...out of the blue...quite a few ebooks came in from the library...Overdrive actually...so I switched to this one because I have not read this author before and I always wanted to. So...I started it and I am into it and I read a review that said it veered away from the great way she usually writes. I am reading it anyway.

More library ebooks...

All authors I want to read!

Have a great day!

Hugs,

Patty

What An Awesome Book...

I just now finished this and it was wondrous...most of this story takes place in a little Southern town and involves an event that happened years ago. I hesitate to tell you anything else about it because it's one of those books where all of the little pieces have to come together and you need to find out about them as they naturally unfold. But I loved this book...loved it!

I think I am starting this one next...

It's been a quiet day here. We spent part of the day changinging out a router and 3 cable boxes. It was supposed to be an easy task that turned out to take up more time than it should have. But now we are faster and voice activated...if we want to be.

Off to watch The Bachelor...

Hugs,

Patty

2017!!!

Everyone seems to have a new book to start today but not me. I am in the middle of this one and it's just too good for words...Alabama,a little old lady with dementia as well as a huge secret...actually there are tons of secrets in this wonderful book. I love it!

I was able to score some of the January Books I wanted in my January Buzz Book!

From Amazon and Edelweiss...
I loved Family Fang!

"Kevin Wilson’s anticipated follow-up to The Family Fang, Perfect Little World is a warm-hearted and emotional story about a young woman charting her own course."

From Amazon and NetGalley...

"From master storyteller Amy Hatvany—whose writing has been hailed as “gripping and emotionally honest” (Stephanie Evanovich, New York Times betselling author)—comes a provocative and compelling novel about two friends whose lives are changed by a drunken kiss."

From Amazon Vine...
"Affecting, achingly beautiful debut...This stunning novel is less about whodunit than deeper social issues of motherhood, morals, and the kind of rush to judgment that can condemn someone long before the accused sees the inside of a courtroom."―Publishers Weekly (starred review)
From Amazon Vine...

"In this dazzling debut novel about love and betrayal, a young couple moves to New York City in search of success--only to learn that the lives they dream of may come with dangerous strings attached."

So...that's it!

Happy Healthy 2017!

Hugs,

Patty
