OMG!

Whatever was bouncing around in the attic is now in our basement. Rob...our amazing animal and insect guy...can't get here until tomorrow!

Den saw a tail under our basement door...it's this little guy!

It's the same little cutie that Roxie watches from our bedroom window. Den is in the basement now with the French doors open...gently trying to coax him out the door! He also has peanut butter on apples in a safe trap. Why won't he just walk himself out of the door?

Please little squirrel? Please?

Finished this...it's fun and serious and dysfunctional and lovely. Flossy is the matriarch in this summer beachy house and has successfully coaxed all of her grown children along with their children and issues to the family's summer house. Flossy is also planning a big birthday party for her husband and an announcement about the house for her adult children. Flossy's biggest issue revolves around getting a stuffed oyster recipe from her neighbor...this is too funny! This author literally stuffed everything into this book...a death, a gay couple who yearn for children, job loss, marital issues, and children growing up too soon...it's a near perfect beach book!

Up next? Perhaps one of these?

Does this ever happen to you? Do you choose a book to read and then unchoose it? Plus I tend to want to read newer books right away...I am so bad about this...

Squirrel update...he is still living with us! He refuses to be coaxed out of the basement!

Hugs,

Patty

  2. Oh dear, the squirrel obviously finds the accommodation to its liking! Have seen some positive reviews around for the Hannah McK book so on my radar.

  3. Oh, I hope the squirrel leaves quietly...LOL. How kind is Den trying to coax him out with treats!

I downloaded The Summer House and can't wait to read it. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I am curious about Do Not Become Alarmed.

Enjoy the rest of your day, squirrel-free, hopefully.

  4. Answering your thought lovely lady...
Yes! I'd love to make a quilt but I think I would make quilted mug rugs and stuff first before I go big :O).

    1. I started with a block at a time until finally I got to the big ones...then my quilting was mostly in the summers because of teaching...but I still love quilting.

  5. I hope the squirrel doesn't tell his friends about your basement!
So far, The Summer House is my favorite "summer book" this year :)

  6. I love squirrels! I know... people hate that they raid the bird feeders, but when we lived in Maine, we actually fed a squirrel, the kids named him and everything, and he hung out in a couple of trees by our back deck. He never got aggressive so we coexisted in our backyard :) I hope the pest man can remove this one without harming him.

I want to read Do Not Become Alarmed-- looks so intense and good!

  7. Okay.. squirrels. They are cute but create a mess and can be destructive so I hope your friend finds a way out.

I have Seven Days of Us and it sounds wonderful.
