A Different Day And Random Thoughts...

I can only say thank you...and it is a thank you from my heart...to all of my friends who had such positive words for me yesterday...I think it will take a while for me to calm down and actually live my life a little at a time...that's what I am trying to do...unfortunately sitting around waiting for my hair to grow sometimes isn't such a good thing!

But I am doing it anyway!

Still reading this...and while I don't love it...I also don't hate it...yet! It is one of those books that started off so good but now that I am in the middle of it I am tired of all of them...the pot smoking mom, the sister who is in the midst of an affair with her boss, the brother whose partner wants to bring a third person into their relationship. Ick! They are all supposed to attend their daughter/sister's wedding in England but everyone has issues with attending. If I am totally honest with myself I have to admit to not enjoying this book but I don't know what to do about it! So I keep on reading!

Up next?

No clue...my mood is weird and I have no clue what I want to read. This one? But it's even more family dysfunction...sigh! I might go back to some fluffy sweet beach books...

So...our week end will be a quiet one...it's still hard to not have a dad to call on Father's Day...l will never get used to it...Den and I will tuck ourselves away and read and color and watch movies...I simply will not be able to really go out until I have a fistful of hair...I just can't. I know I disappoint Den every day by saying I will go somewhere with him but even if I go I can't leave the car. Sigh!

Aren't these sandals sweet? I want them...from Free People...

Hungry for baked pastas...but...ziti stacking? No way!

This one is healthy...it's got cauliflower in it!
This one is straight up decadent! Yum!

Be back on Monday!

Hugs,

Patty

  1. The food looks so good, and now that you mention the contents of those books, I'm thinking I'll stick to my beach reads and thrillers. LOL.

I have no father to celebrate, but two of my sons are fathers, so we usually have nice chats on the day.

    Keep hanging in there!

  3. Mmmm, those pasta dishes look yummy. I love it when chunks of cheese is flashed. LOVE those sandals. Jeffrey Campbell makes cute shoes. I used to buy his flats all the time. Now I'm a Birkenstock girl.

    2. Mahalo for this morning's visit. I'm so sorry I didn't get the shawl to you in time when you were having chemo *smacks forehead - doh!* But I will still mail it to you. I wanted to make a pretty card for you. I have to lug out all of my containers as they were all put away when the ohana came over. I have some thank you cards to make as well so it'll be convenient. The husband told me last night every day is Mother's Day in which I rolled my eyes and I told him he only gets one day, LOL. All that cookin' was the least I could do with how hard he works for us every day. His belly was mighty happy. Off to sneak a chocolate, cream cheese cupcake; had to put them in the frig last night b/c of the heat. Hugs!

  4. I had high hopes for The People We Hate at the Wedding so I hate to see it's a stinker. I love the bottom shoes and wish they came in my size.

I bet you could rock the new hair look! You'd start a trend!

  5. You are surrounded by good vibes from online friends, so soak 'em up :)

I am getting persnickity with my reading... I would've DNF/put aside that book above. I am in a weird mood where I want to read all the time, but it needs to flow, otherwise... put aside for another time. I don't like to get bogged down with a dull or unsatisfactory book when I have so many ahead of me to read.

Pick a fluffy book-- so many out there now with pretty covers and cute titles. And don't be silly about the lack of hair, plop on a slouchy hat & movie star sunglasses and go!

The cauliflower casserole looks awesome to me! Now I'm craving something like that for dinner tonight...

    1. The cauliflower casserole is from The Barefoot Contessa and I really want to make it, too. You are so right about fluffy reading...beach books are called for. I do don the snugly hat and glasses but I can't get myself out of the car! That's my next step.

  6. ALL of those pasta dishes look so good. I have been craving tuna casserole. I may have to make it for myself.
