Baby...It's Cold Outside!

Brr...it is freezing and lightly snowing here! It was necessary to warm up with soup for lunch! And our house still feels cold. Now we are sipping tea! All in an extreme effort to stay warm from the inside out!

I just made the warmest thing I could think of for dinner...homemade macaroni and cheese and fish sticks...a carry over from childhood that Den and I can't give up...only now it's wild caught and usually organic! Macaroni and cheese recipe is from Serious Eats...I love that site!

Books...

Reading this on my Kindle and it's still really yummy...

Out of the blue...sort of...reading this in real book form...it's really good, too!

It's the only way I can read two books at a time!

Sipping tea and feeling warmer...

Hugs,

Patty

  1. The fish looks really good. I used to love breaded fish.

  2. Glad you found some good comfort foods to help you stay warm on a cold day. Freezing here. Second snow day in a row. I can't control the weather, so I just enjoyed my time at home. I know we will be going to school until the end of June, but it is what it is. :)

I have never made macaroni and cheese. Not even the kind from a box. I do love homemade mac and cheese though. Yum!

  3. It was cold here today, too, but, thankfully, there was no snow. I'm so ready for the warm weather to come back. Both of your books look good to me.

  4. Ooh, yummy comfort food! My eldest son would only ever eat fish sticks when he was a toddler...had no interest in other meat.

I love the kind of fish sticks that are presented as "fish and chips." Mac and cheese is another favorite, even now. Thanks for sharing, and stay cozy.

    1. Ha, somehow the beginning of my comment didn't post :) Anyway, I just finished The Garden of Small Beginnings. Did you read it? It might be my favorite of 2017 so far. So good.

    2. Ok...thank you...I scanned my blog at least three times to find out how your reply connected to something I wrote. So I tried for an answer that would sort of make sense! I have not read it but it sounds as though I should!

  6. Mmm, comfort food. We love those cod filets from TJ's. I love fried fish but man it's work to get it all together. I call it necessary-who-cares-slumming when we eat frozen, processed food.
