So Far...Cozy...Warm...Safe!

We have not yet lost power. It is amazing and I am so thankful. I woke up at about one to howling winds. It truly was a blizzard last night and it is snowing still. Everything here is closed and no one is on the roads. We actually had coffee and breakfast and things are as normal as they can be when your world looks like this...

Have a good one!

All Stocked Up? Or Random Buying?

The lull before the storm...

Ok...we hit Weggieman's (Wegman's) this morning at around 10 ish...armed with a list. We have batteries, flashlights, head lamps and everything we own is being charged including back up Chargers, old iPads and Game Boys. Colored pencils are sharpened...books are stacked. I have a list of piercing questions ready for Den in case we get tired of games, books and coloring by candlelight.

Our list of foods include cans of Italian tuna (Lucy's fave), jello cups, cottage cheese, triscuits, wheat thins, hummus, Philadelphia Cream Cheese Garden Veggie Dip, fresh crisp green peppers, carrots, celery, bread, peanut butter, Bone Broth (for nourishment), and two mini raspberry tarts...I wanted to make chicken soup but Wegman's had no chicken! No chicken? What is happening to my world?

I don't think it will ever stop snowing! This is my world right now...

The girls refuse to leave their heated beds...Lucy is even tolerating Roxie in hers!
Finishing this...it's really good...
Ready for this...doesn't this look good?
And this...I need fantasy for this snowy weekend...love this cover!
Ok...so if all my friends everywhere just said these words...
PLEASE KEEP PATTY'S POWER ON! I will be good!
I will pop in tomorrow with a snow update! I hope!

But...

But I really love snow...but I really want snow...but I don't want to lose power. Today and tomorrow we are sort of making sure that gadgets are charged, the generator is ready, the snowblower is primed and we have stuff to eat without having too much stuff in the refrigerator. It's so cold that we can put milk and juice in the garage or on the deck...so that's good. And the weather people around here are not to be trusted. They make everyone believe that this snow will be the worst ever and then we get nothing and they never bother to apologize! All we get are empty bread shelves everywhere. I think we got the last loaf of good bread today and paid a small fortune for it.

Right now the sun is shining and it looks beautiful outside. Snow isn't going to happen until Friday night...and continue all day on Saturday. We will just wait and see...

Finished this...seriously good...I love this kind of historical fictional mystery. Blake and Avery...hired to find out who is committing these gruesome murders of printers. I love poor little shoeless Matty...discovering the body of one printer and giving up answers for a "cuppa and a thin"...I think that is tea or coffee and buttered bread. And getting William's money back for buying what looks like a luscious beautiful orange. But Matty knows it's been filled with boiling water to make it look juicy. This series is good!

Up next...
Making a yummy roasted chicken for dinner...from Sheet Pan Suppers...
New coloring book...I bought it because of the cat!
Stay warm and dry! We hope to!

Nighty Night!

Such a long day today...hair appointments that involve 3 hours of driving...round trip...a stop at Nordstrom's to return Christmas stuff...a stop at Shake Shack for their new Chicken Shack Sandwich and a Chocolate Malt...yum!

Than a quick stop at Trader Joe's to grab some blizzard groceries...gloom and doom about our snow amounts this weekend! Yikes!
Reading this...historical fiction...mystery...two quirky detectives...so good and very addictive!
So tired!
Nighty Night!

Brrrrr...

Time to pop these babies on...in the house! I think the cold feels colder right now!

I love these from Sundance...and now I have quite a collection! I have been waiting to wear them!

And I get to wear my faux fur scarf...finally! This one is from Soft Surroundings and is on sale!
But I really want this faux fur vest! Most likely the kitties will confiscate it! This one is from Love, Kuza! I am secretly waiting for a sale!
Finished this...but it has a book before it...featuring the same ex Boston police woman...Lizzie Snow...now moved to Maine. I loved this book but wished I would have read the first one first. It's a sort of cozy mystery. And they seem to take place in a wintery Maine rather than a summery one.
Reading this now...so far so good...
Today calls for soup...I am making soup today!
Stay warm...

So...It's Monday!

Lots of football over the week end meant lots of reading! I loved it!

Finished this...sweet, sad, thought provoking...really an insight into early onset Alzheimer's...really a beautiful book.

Finished this...love this series...fast paced...kind of a cranky heroine...this one involved a creepy manipulator with an online presence...who talks teenagers who are bullied into committing suicide in front of a webcam. Then he sells these filmed suicides.
Reading this...from Amazon...
Sure to thrill readers of Jenny Milchman, Linda Castillo, and Lisa Gardner, The Girls She Left Behind marks the return of ex–Boston homicide detective Lizzie Snow, the new sheriff’s deputy in Maine’s Great North Woods.

We still have our Christmas tree up! So...today is "Take Down Monday". Bins are up from the basement and we aren't stopping until the house is cleared of Christmas!
It is freezing cold here! We are supposed to have 8 to 12 inches of snow later this week. I can't wait!
What are you up to today?
