NYE...

We aren't doing much of anything for NYE but that's the what we usually do...early showers...warm pajamas and comfy robes as we prop ourselves up on a sofa or a bed to try to stay up past midnight. I think we are getting Chinese food for later and maybe watching a movie. It's cold and windy here and I just want to be inside but that's where I usually am anyway. There are tons of flus and colds floating around and I need to stay clear of them...if I can.
Reading this...
a 38 year old single sort of nerdy cartoonist finds herself pregnant...that's just the beginning of her story but she decides to name the baby Digby. She needs him to have a totally nerdy name. I love this book! There's also some rivalry with her perfect sister which is making this book even better!

So...the year's end...

the end of the year just makes me try to be more thankful and appreciate every moment...I have never been sick and now I am in the middle a sickness that is new to me. I can be happy and sad and crying all in the same day. I want and need to be strong enough to get myself through what I have to go through. Den is my strength but I have to be strong for him, too. And I will.

Hugs and big thank you's for all of your thoughts and prayers as we all step into 2017!

Patty

  2. Your NYE plans sound like mine. Of course, my son is trying to get something scheduled for him and his girlfriend but I am secretly hoping he just stays here. It's not a good night to be driving around.

This year end is majorly sucky for me. I am usually able to rise above things but not this year. It hit me right before Thanksgiving with the death of my mom and I ma just not even trying anymore My entire vacation has been stressful and I am just exhausted. I'm just giving in and processing it all but it's so depressing.

  3. That sounds good. We've had a few health challenges in this house this 2016. I hope for a better 2017 in that department. 3/4 of us have cold bugs. I'm hoping to nap today as I'd like to go to my mum's la hanau celebration tomorrow up in the city. The book sounds good. I always participate in First Book of the Year but my request hasn't come in yet, grrr. I may have to look for another substitute. Hau'oli Makahiki Hou Patty to you and Den. You've had quite a year but in the end, you are stronger and a warrior. XO

  4. Everyone seems to be sick with colds and flu around here, too... my parents, sisters, daughter. Hope I manage to avoid this one. We'll stay in for New Years Eve, too - a nice dinner, a movie, and probably some champagne. Happy New Year to you and Den!
