Books...

This is a mellow Saturday...very mellow...I finished this...I will simply say...I just did not like it at all. Let's just say that a certain four letter word really can be overused. There are some characters that are really annoying and not even fun "love to hate annoying"...just simply annoying...I hate when I choose a book that is just not meant for me. It makes me think I don't know myself well.

But now my un-devoted attention is on this book...and the mystery is a good one and this author is so skillful about revealing it...I am about 42% into it and I don't want to stop.

Off to read...we have snow and we have "provisions" for today...so we are staying in...happily!

Dinner...a chicken recipe from Food 52...

Happy Saturday!

My Formula!

Finished this...I think it was YA...but it was mysterious...and...really fascinating. This author reveals elements of his story in a slow enticing manner. It was hard to stop reading because of the suspense of each chapter, the revelations of each chapter and the backwards countdown before each chapter...which might be confusing or fascinating...I found it fascinating.

Just starting this...not a thought in my head about this yet.

So...so far it's working...my formula...a real physical book during the day...and my Paperwhite at night...still reading this...for some reason it takes me longer to read books on my Paperwhite...I guess I must fall asleep! Another book with secrets being revealed slowly...a body found in the woods on university property...a very tiny small body. The small town reporter on this story has recently dealt with the death of her own baby...we are off to the salon...so I will be able to read more of this while I am sitting there...

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Snow Is On The Way!!!

Schools here are closing early...it's supposed to be a slippery slide-y afternoon and evening...Den got home late last night...we have milk, bread for toast and stuff for dinner...he is at the office today and...of course...will be driving home at the exact time the sleet and snow will hit...it always happens this way.

Reading this...so far it's really good.

Reading this at night when the lights are out...it's why I love my Kindle Paperwhite. It's also really good. I know I have said this before but if I can separate daytime and nighttime reading...I can alternate between two books. And...I kind of like it.

Want these jammies...is it just me or does everyone have a wardrobe of comfy stretchy at home clothes...stuff that you would never wear anywhere but home...I have a wintery set and a summery set. Is that weird?

They are from this site.

Want this cookbook! It's all about beautiful soups! Plus I love Weck jars...I just bought a set from Amazon.

That's it for me today...the girls and I are just waiting for snow! They can't wait!
See?

Happy Wednesday!

Randomness...

I told myself that I needed a break from YA but after reading these two books...I am glad I changed my mind.  Both are good...with quirky dysfunctional characters and interesting themes.  I loved Finch and Violet and was slightly taken aback by Althea and Oliver.  But...that's the way YA goes...

Finally finished this...I just realized why it took me longer than usual to finish this book...it was so good and it also was a deliciously slow read! I was sad when it ended!

I really want this salad and its avocado dressing...fromtwopeasandtheirpod.com!

I am fixated on this tunic from Zara! I love it! Tossed on over jeans, worn alone, with Uggs, with sandals...I love this tunic!

That baking show I am watching made me buy these...Silicon baking cups...I am using them for everything except muffins!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

I am finished with laundry, tidying, vacuuming...Roxie Blue and I even got in a game of chase! She loves being chased...it is so funny! And...my lovely Lucy Grace chases her, too! I love watching them...every day that they are together and well and happy...is a joy filled day! Plus they are both tired after the chase!

A Day Of Rest...

I have zipped through the house...spraying, tidying and dusting...prepping for a very relaxed day! No laundry, no real cleaning...just books and TV bingeing...I am suddenly into Girls, Togetherness and The Great British Baking Show which is a total addiction...Den and I both are crazed over this show! A baking Czar...a sweet British lady named either Mary Berry or Mary Cherry...is the goddess of flour in the UK. The show is fab...sweet little old ladies, a 17 year old student, a construction worker and many others...have baking challenges to see who will reign as the Baking Champion! It's a must see...lol!

New books...love NetGalley and Edelweiss and the publishers who grant me access...

From Amazon...

"Neil Gaiman meets Joe Hill in this astonishingly original, terrifying, and darkly funny contemporary fantasy."

From Amazon...

"An idyllic suburban town.

A devastating discovery.

Shocking revelations that will change three lives forever.

At the end of a long winter in well-to-do Ridgedale, New Jersey, the body of a newborn is found in the woods fringing the campus of the town's prestigious university. No one knows the identity of the baby, what ended her very short life, or how she wound up among the fallen leaves. But among the residents of Ridgedale, there is no shortage of opinions..."

Off to finish this...is it Hush Hush or just Hush?

I leave you with this thought...my motto?

Sigh...

Seriously? We are showered and nestled in bed...Den is watching football...I am reading...we had grand plans for dinner but we finally had a huge roasted baked potato with cottage cheese on top...of course you have to mix butter and salt and pepper in first...and top it with cottage cheese...it is sooooo delicious. Does it sound good or bad to you? We have been eating these for forever...whenever we don't know what we want...it's a baked potato with cottage cheese!

Of course...it could have been that we over did these earlier...rice crackers from Costco! We have a giant bag but they are so good...they do not have weird nuts in them,,,just almonds and peanuts which was a surprise because I didn't even know rice crackers had nuts in them...or that they came in bags as big as the one we bought!

Finished this...not as exciting as the jacket proclaimed it to be unless I read too much and I am jaded...sigh!

Still reading this and it's so good! I think it's easy to stop this one and just as easy to pick it back up again...but I will finish this tomorrow!

Yep...another YA but different...

Happy Sunday Night!
