I'm Baack!

Well...the Pope is gone and so is my sister. Den and I are exhausted. The girls are out of sorts and my house needs a good cleaning! But I love seeing my sister...we remind each other of our mom! Plus now that we are older we really don't bicker any more! Heeheehee!

Of course I read nothing over the weekend. My sister Paula says that Den and I take "too much care" of house guests. That's why we are exhausted. We might hover too much...we try to make everyone comfy...we probably overdo food...but that's the way we roll!

What I am reading...a fiance dies and his fiancée is left in pieces.

Season Of Salt And Honey!

I am reading this, too. Sort of a quest book...
New this week...I think I have some of these twice!

"Though set in modern-day Los Angeles, the style of Brunkhorst's writing and the nuances of her tale hearken back to the glory days of glamorous Hollywood. Readers seeking to lose themselves in a lush, romantic mystery will be richly rewarded here."

-Booklist

From Amazon...

A “beautifully written, heartbreaking” (S. J. Watson) debut novel about a gifted boy who discovers the truth about his past, his overprotective single mother who tries desperately to shield him from it, and the father he has never met who has unexpectedly returned...

Mystery and suspense...
From the back cover...yum!
"What if you aren't the Chosen One?

The one who's supposed to fight the zombies, or the soul-eating ghosts, or whatever the heck this new thing is, with the blue lights and the death?

What if you're like Mikey? Who just wants to graduate and go to prom and maybe finally work up the courage to ask Henna out before someone goes and blows up the high school. Again.

Because sometimes there are problems bigger than this week's end of the world, and sometimes you just have to find the extraordinary in your ordinary life.

Even if your best friend is worshiped by mountain lions.

Award-winning writer Patrick Ness's bold and irreverent novel powerfully reminds us that there are many different types of remarkable."

From Amazon...

"In her most accessible, commercial novel yet, the “supremely perceptive writer of formidable skill and intelligence (New York Times Book Review) turns her astute eye to a dramatic family reunion, where simmering tensions and secrets come to a head over three long, hot summer weeks."

Back to cleaning! Talk soon!

  3. Love the covers of those last two.

So you had fun with your sis? That's good. I'm sure you do hover a bit but hey, it's not every day that your sister comes to town!

My pup wasn't feel well last night. I am not sure what was up but she seemed much better today. Are your girls upset that their routines were a bit different this weekend?

  4. Glad you and your sister had such a fun visit. Sounds like your house is the place to be a house guest. :) I am exhausted too- but just from the start of school and all that goes with it. Open House is this week and even though I am in the library- I still have a lot to prepare and another late night at work.

Looks like you have a ton of books to read. Hope they are good!
