Books...

Reading this...in fact I am doing nothing else other than reading book...it's about an Irish Catholic Boston family...the family of a policeman...Joe...his wife...Rosie...and their four grown children. It is how the diagnosis of this horrible disease...Huntington's Disease...can literally affect an entire family and future generations of a family. If you are a parent with this disease your children have a 50% chance of carrying the disease, too, as do their children...it just goes on and on and on. No cure, no breaks, no hope...I can't put this book down. The funny thing is that I have not read any of her other books...I just haven't wanted to...and this one...simply unbelievably sad and good...so good!

That's it for me today...it's in the 60's here...sort of...I am off to a hair appointment...then back home to finish this book.

Happy Reading!

  2. Sounds too sad to me. I read Still Alice, but almost wished I hadn't.

  3. I can't wait to read this book. I read all of Lisa Genova's other books. I recommend them but I guess you have your reasons for not wanting to pick them up. Left Neglected was my favorite, though Still Alice is the most famous and the other one was kind of meh for me, name escapes me at the moment. Anyway, enjoy reading today!

  6. Don't think I've ever cried as much at a book as I did in Still Alice. This sounds both sad and wonderful!
