We're Baaaaasack!

We had a quick 48 hours in Washington DC, Georgetown, Alexandria, Arlington and DelRay.

My brother was in from Saudi Arabia...to visit his daughter and us in Washington...it was a whirlwind 48 hours!

The drive in...so much traffic on the Beltway...lots due to Baltimore's celebration of the National Anthem...driving home a few hours ago we were stuck in it again but we got to see the Blue Angels (jets) while we were driving...

Blue Angels...

Dinner last night...

Busy frantic crowds in Georgetown...

Coffee today...M.E.Swings...

Read this in the car up...hotel at night...in the car going home today...too sad for words...really depressingly sad...but good...I think...

Reading this now...

Playtime with the sitter...

We are exhausted!

Happy Saturday!

Thursday's Tidbits...In Order Of Their Importance To Me...

Lucy seems to feel better but did you know that cats are excellent at hiding pain?

Roxie Blue is relentless...she will not leave Lucy alone...Lucy is often annoyed by her antics...but that face...that smooshy kitty face...lol...

Elin Hilderbrand loves this book and I have never heard of it or seen it around!

I read this last night...it was funny, cute, playful, light and sweet...I think it's the perfect book for grandmothers! Just teasing!

Reading this middle grade one now...I need a fantasy every once in a while! I love this cover!

Reading this one at night on my Paperwhite but this book suffers from too much time since the last one...I am having such a hard time remembering what happened in the last book...I loved the first one in this series...the second was just ok for me and this one is good...but difficult to get into...I wonder if it's just me?

Ok...that's it for me...today is laundry and root touch up and pasta and clams for dinner! It's supposed to be wet and stormy one here later! We could lose power!

Happy Thursday!

Wednesday's Woes...

We awakened this morning to Lucy Grace gracefully limping after jumping up on our bed...after mildly freaking out...that would be us...and a stressful trip to the vet...she has a very swollen arthritic knee...she is getting a cold laser treatment and I will pick her up soon...Den and I both have stress headaches and it is Lucy's spa day...she will get laser treatments three times a week for the next two weeks. I think cats age like gymnasts...joints hurt and suffer after all of the leaps they carelessly take in their youth...Lucy made leaps that we could not believe...and now it has taken its toll...my poor sweet elegant geriatric girl.

Reading this...chosen by me because of the cover and the 1930 ish London sort of story...and because for some odd reason it reminded me of Downton Abbey...

Some new books...

Happy Wednesday!

Tuesday's Thoughts...

Well...lol...my first thought today is that Den...lovely sweet Den...is at the office! Today tomorrow and Thursday are office days...Friday is a play day!

I love this schedule...seriously...we have fun days and then work days and I still have time by myself.

So...yesterday's sheet pan dinner was awesome...the mix of teensie baby potatoes...I get them at Whole Foods and they are the size of grapes...but the mix of roasted potatoes and Kalamata olives and tiny sweet tomatoes...all on one pan...was so good!
After roasting, everything was sort of Mediterranean saucy tasting...I used a thick white fish...cod...so good! I know I made sheet pan suppers last year and then forgot about them...but I have a new renewed interest in them...

Making this one tonight but the salad doesn't go on the pan...lol...this is Martha Stewart, too. It's chicken...not fish.

I keep seeing this book everywhere! I want it!

Trying to finish this one...and it's good yet weird...it's my own fault because the cover reminded me of The Night Circus...which I loved. It takes place in Victorian England...my least fave place...there are lots of orphans, beggars, coal dust, and everyone is dirty or dying from an awful flu. Plus they are hungry and no one has money even though you can get dinner for a penny...including ale. Sigh...wish me luck.

Off to read this book for the next 30 minutes.

Happy Tuesday?

Our Monday Mission!

Shopping! We needed groceries and other stuff...sometimes shopping is complicated...getting stuff, unpacking stuff, putting it away...organizing it...we needed one of these at lunch to take away the pain! This one was so delicious!

Reading this...

Making this for dinner...from Martha Stewart...everything is baked on one sheet pan...yum!

Happy Monday!

Sunday's Schedule!

Den needed homemade waffles today...I think I did, too.

Then we read papers...I love to read the New York Times on Sunday because of certain sections...Arts and Leisure, Travel, Book Review and Style.

Read and recycled...lol!

Next up? Football...possibly lunch but we won't be hungry after waffles! Den ate two big giant sized waffles with sausages...

Dinner...stuffed pork chops...from our local butcher...they are so delicious and I just basically put them in the oven and bake them...local broccoli is washed and ready to steam...practically everything we are having today is local...watermelon, apples, milk and even butter...all from just a few miles away! I think I am making little individual apple crisps...for dessert! From local apples! From Glenn Willow Orchards! Yum!

Den could not be more excited for football today...Red Zone, Eagles, Broncos...and pork chops...plus I promised him I would stay with him in the family room all day long.

Reading this...on my Kindle from NetGalley...love love love it...the third and last book in this trilogy of grown up amazingly sexy, attractive vamps and witches...mmmm!

Reading this...I love the beginning but I am reserving my true judgement...

Want this dress...with numbers! I love dresses...slouchy, toss on dresses! I love Urban Outfitters this year! Hmmm...I think I might have accidentally bought it...oh my!

Love those numbers!

Happy Sunday!
