The Monday Report!

New lovely delicious books! This is a bookish summer!

Rough week end here...Den coughed and coughed and coughed...I am just not good with sick people...that I know and love...

I am not good at feeling heads for fevers when that said person says he is freezing yet he has the temp at 66 and two fans on!

I am really not good at is listening to that same person tell me how much he coughed all night.

I am so not good with someone coughing and then commenting on their own coughing.

I am not good with someone who continues to talk about how bad he feels. Sigh! Den is at the doctor now...who will tell him he has a chest cold.

I am also not good when sick people insist on being with me when upstairs in bed with the door shut is better for everyone! Double sigh!

Not a fun weekend at all! I made my sick boy waffles! His appetite is not affected by his illness.

Should I be making chicken soup? It is so hot and humid here today...I can't even imagine it.

Stay well everyone! Happy Monday!

Oh...reading this...mystery...really good!

  1. Thankfully Carl doesn't get sick often and, when he does, he just sucks it up and moves on. I hope Den feels better soon!

  2. Poor Den! It's rough to feel like you have a fever in the hot summer. My husband is not a good patient at all; he doesn't get sick too often, but when he does he exaggerates his condition because he can't handle not being 100%

Your mystery, The Ways of the Dead, is new to me and looks like my style. Also Save the Date is on my wishlist.
Hope your hubby has a speedy recovery, for both your sakes!

  5. It has been a while since I had to take care of a sick spouse...that is what I miss the LEAST about marriage...LOL.

I actually have been single longer than I was married! (7 years to No. 1 and 9 years to No. 2).

Men are the worst sick people in the world...they are really big babies...sorry, Den! LOL

I was away from my computer most of the day yesterday...a nice long lunch at Cheesecake Factory, shopping, and then finally...reading.

Hope today is better for both you and Den.

  6. Okay, I am going to SLUG Blogger! My comment disappeared, and this time I forgot to copy it so I wouldn't have to retype it...GRRR.

Okay...just saying that men are the worst patients...and I don't miss that about marriage. Except when he's sick, Den sounds like the perfect spouse.

Hope he is feeling better soon! And that you get some peace and quiet.

  9. When my husband is sick, I tend to him as far as medicines and the like because he will not take any on his own but I banish him to the couch for the duration of his illness. I take drugs that lower my immune system so it's a necessity but with all his moving around on a good day, I can never get any sleep. On a sick day? Forget it. Nope, couch.
