Saturday! I Truly Love Saturday!

Well...yesterday didn't really happen the way I thought it would...we didn't go out to dinner nor did I make that salad! We actually didn't feel like going out...it was more fun to stay in...we sat on the deck and watched Lucy and Roxie watch the geese...and sipped icy cold drinks!

We had this instead...with a yummy very green salad! We have been watching Big Brother and this is what they make every night! Den and I must be highly influenced by ads...yikes! But the pizza tasted really good!

We changed our reservation to tonight...but I don't feel like going out tonight either!

Just in case we stay home...we are making this...it's Watermelon Raspberry Sangria from a blog called Pip And Ebby's! Yum!

I love the staying home idea...and a simple dish of pasta...

I am reading this...YA...Dystopian...really good! Just a bit Hunger Gamesish...but still good!

Have a fun Saturday!

Friday! Funday! Choices!

Either making this...from Framed Cooks...

Or eating out...

Either reading this...

or reading this...

That's my day!
Right now...two Tonks are staring at me...waiting for deck time!

Off to the deck!
They win every time! Roxie has not mastered her stare as well as Lucy has!

Hair Day!

Life as I know it stops for Hair Day! It's a very stress filled day! My beloved stylist uses an organic sulphate nitrate free hair color to get rid of my grays...I get Keratin once a year to get rid of frizzies and a keratin refresher to keep the keratin in at other times...it is all so exhausting! Sigh! And sometimes I still get a reaction from the color...all to keep those pesky grays away! Double sigh...

But today my head fills good...so far! See! No hint of nasty gray!

Front or back!

Lol!

Read this today...really good! Trauma. Loss. Psychological thriller ish!

Den is bringing home dinner...I can't cook on Hair Day! We are having a Capriotti's Bobby! Yum!

On A Roll!

I am reading this...it's in my "9 days to read before it is overdue" category...

so are these...from Amazon Vine's Last Harvest...lol...it's too tempting...and lately it is filled with yummy books! Love this cover!

I can't wait to read this one...

And this...I loved the first one in this series...loved it...it's such a neat series. I love the wonderful fantasy in books like this. Love the Quarkbeast...lol...and again...Last Harvest is way too tempting for me! And too tempting in general...right, Laurel-Rain?

So...a relaxing day...still deciding about dinner...Den is home all week long and the weather is less humid...which makes sitting on the deck so delightful.

Den is hungry for...of all things...barbecued baked beans! I am going to use this Three Bean Bake from Simply Recipes...all different kinds of beans baked in the oven with bits of sautéed bacon and onion...so good! We will toss something on the grill to go with them...simple, summery, delicious!

A Slight Change Of Plans...

Due to an extreme over abundance of amazing books from Amazon Vine...and their spillover of temptingly irresistible books called Last Harvest...I forgot about the plethora of real books I have to finish really soon! I sometimes forget how good it feels to read a real book that you hold and actually turn the pages yourself! Quite yummy!

So...yesterday I read this one...and loved it...it has goats and a chicken named Dub and an aunt named Jean (who speaks wonderful words) and goats with cool names...I know I mentioned the goats twice but they were so cool! There was sorrow and bullying and a "hot farmer" and a lot of older hippies! Yum!

And today I am reading this one...NYC as its setting...a London family forced to move from their big house to an 800 sq.ft. apartment...I am a third of the way in and I love it...light, fun, an easy breezy book!

I have nine days left to review these and a few others that I will share later this week.
I actually love Amazon Vine's new system...I work so much better with a schedule!

Dinner tonight? The Pioneer Woman's Chicken Taco Salad...she posted this yesterday...it looks so good...doesn't it?

Pull It All Together Monday...

Monday is always my day to put the fun and relaxation of the weekend aside and gently put our house back together...laundry, dusting, fun stuff...but it gives me a sense of...hmmm...order?

Yes...and I love order!

Reluctantly finished this...and it was a lovely book...the words of this author are so beautiful...so touching...so real.

Can you tell that I loved this book? The thing about reading so much is that I always think that I love all of the books that I read and I do...but then every once in a while I read a book that is so quietly lovely that I am overwhelmed by it...literally gobsmacked by it...and I am incredulous that I have never read anything by this lovely endearing amazing author before. This is the kind of book where I read about the author and I read the acknowledgements and the preface and still I can't get enough of it all!

Kathy...you were so right! Plus it ended my start/stop streak!

Reading this now...for sure!

Off to start my Monday!

Sunday...Grits...Makeup TV!

Today is BIG BREAKFAST DAY! Yeah! We eat yogurt and berries all week long to prepare ourselves for BIG BREAKFAST DAY!

Today we had cheesy grits, dippy eggs, and actual big old sautéed ham slices!

It was wonderful!

Cheesy eggy hammy deliciousness!

We also had these cinnamonny rolls from Starbucks for a kind of breakfast dessert.

We are stuffed!

Almost finished with this...it's a lovely book about the lives of three people...Alice...Bobby...Amelia...sadness...happiness...tons of food descriptions...and New York...I love books that take place in New York!

Once the papers are done...we will spend hours watching make up tv...Falling Skies, Under The Dome, Food Network Star, and my new fave...Motive!

Dinner tonight? Chef Mark Vietri's Pasta Carbonara...yum!
