We Are Ready!

We have "deChristmassed" the living room, the dining room and the sunroom! Only a few more rooms to go but not today! Too tired...plus we just stuffed our tummies with a Bobby...so yummy...with extra pickles and chips...the turkey is really roasted there...so delicious.

The tree is gone, too...sad...some needles might be here until next year!

Now we are chilling until the football game at 4:30...we are ready to watch Bronco football!

Happy Saturday!

A Happy Dance?

I think I am happy...I have been quietly reading what I want to read...finally...and it feels so awesome. Oh...I am reading review books but I am not making myself feel pressure. So...as I thought before...the problem was always me...my perfectionism...my competition with myself...to do everything!

Not over it but I am working on it! It helps to give myself short breaks...with cookies!

Finished this...really good!

Reading this...

Eating a chewy yummy homemade oatmeal cookie!

Just got my nails done...neutral!

Happy Friday!

Of Flu Shots And GroupOns!

We finally got our flu shots...along with every other last minute person in our town. We zipped to Walgreen's last night...and stood in the pharmacy area to get our shots. I am not sick but after standing with coughing sneezing people...I have the imaginary flu today. I know I don't have the flu but I feel as though I am waiting for either a reaction to the flu shot...or the effects of people coughing on me. Den is away for the day...so Lucy and I are laying low...she thinks she has fake flu, too...we are sipping chicken soup, resting, drinking orange/pineapple juice, reading and so far delighting in my imaginary illness! It's fun to have fake flu! Hopefully that won't comeback to bite me!

We also went to dinner right after our flu shots. It was our last day to use a GroupOn to one of our favorite local restaurants...Kyoto. I had Tuna Tataki...with salad...Den had a filet...Teriyaki...both were amazing. We split a YoYo roll...tempura lobster with avocado and eel sauce...for a starter. Yum! I love GroupOns...I spent $20.00 and it took $40.00 off of our dinner!

Reading this...so good...Hollywood...dysfunctional family...this book fits me to a tee. I did not like Whisper Of Crows...at all.

It's in the 50's here today. Lucy and I are going to toss aside our fake flu and go out for a nice long walk! I am trying to figure out if I can sneak her into Longwood Gardens for a really nice walk...hmmm!

Happy Thursday!

Just A Whisper...

I needed something really yummy this week...and here it is...

ABOUT WHISPER OF CROWS...

Kanaan James is a disturbed teenage boy obsessed with his childhood friend Abigail Caulfield. A horrible car accident leaves Abigail stricken with amnesia and Kanaan, desperate for her attention, convinces her they are soul mates, running from the law. In the midst of a passionate love affair, while hiding in an old abandoned house deep in the woods, Kanaan is forced to test the boundaries of his own humanity.

ABOUT JAMESON HESSE...

Jameson Hesse has led quite a fascinating life. He grew up near Three Mile Island, can recall a lot of magical experiences, lived near Three Mile Island when it was evacuated, studied acting, plays the guitar, writes poetry, was in a band, kind of was a juvenile delinquent and...and...these are just a few of the juicy tidbits of his life!

The book so far is...intense!

My Newest Obsessions! Or This Is Not A Whiny Book Post!

Lavender! Oil...room spray...I love it...I even have lavender cologne. Wait a minute...is lavender what little sweet elderly British ladies like to smell like...on their lacy antique handkerchiefs? I told you I read way too many mysteries!

This body lotion! OMG...it smells like Pepperidge Farms Ginger Boy cookies! It's Origins Ginger Soufflé! It leaves our skin feeling silky...Den uses it, too.

My Kindle Paper White in its pink cover...it matches my IPad2 cover and was a surprise from Santa...it is so small...I love it!

Lavender hand cream...at night I smell like a ginger lavender sandwich!

The Bachelor! Can't wait for the action and adventure...lol...and hissy fits, backstabbing and girl fights! Premier was last night.

Road trip! I have this idea that I want the three of us to head to Sarasota for a week in March. Lucy's bags are already packed!
I found this house...in Old Sarasota! Key Lime Pie on a stick...here I come!

Major break through...not sure what I am going to read today...I don't care what I read today...I don't even care if I read today...lol...it's probably therapeutic for me to spend a day without a book!

Happy Tuesday!

I Am Sick Of My Whining...So You Must Be Too!

There is seriously something wrong with me when I get a message on my reader that a book license has expired and I am happy...really happy!

Remember when I said I had a book reviewing schedule and I loved it? Well...I don't any more. If I follow it I will read a book a day for the rest of my life! I have already read 6 long books this year...and I am not happy! I am trying to fit my life in to my reading schedule. I am never not reading. If I am not reading I feel guilty. I don't know how this happened and I don't know how to fix it.

I think I need an intervention. Or something. I used to be so well rounded...now I am all bumpy. Sigh! I love to read...but I think I am overdoing it. Just a bit?

This week I should read these...

I think I can...but I do not even know if I want to. And it's all my very own fault. It's all me. So sad...even Lucy is questioning my decision making. My head is always in a book and I am not a good listener any more...double sigh! Den and Lucy are complaining...lol...

It's Really Time For Soup!

We have sick people in our house...just look at him...coughing, sniffling, miserable...
and now I will add whiny, moody, grumpy...oh wait a minute...that's me!
I have the same anti sympathy gene that my sister has and my mom had. I will make my boy toy soup and tea and herbal concoctions...right now he is sipping herbal tea with wildflower honey, a lemon slice and cayenne pepper...but I don't want to hear how badly he feels...and I don't want to be next!

Homemade chicken soup is simmering away on the stove...ready to sip with orzo pasta.

A bean soup is simmering in the slow cooker...with these beautiful beans I found at Whole Foods. Aren't they pretty? And they stayed that color!

And guess what...the tea concoction is working...my boy toy is a bit less stuffy!

Now books! I love my books! They save me!

Read this last night...I couldn't sleep and when I did I was awakened by snuffling...

So YA...so witchily delicious...I loved it.

Reading this now...British mystery...love it, too!

Happy Sunday!

Stay healthy!
