A Plethora Of Reading Material!

First of all...I love that word...plethora...I can't believe I got to use it!

Just finished this book...

description from Amazon follows...it's quite yummy and the first in a trilogy...plus if you have a Kindle...it's $3.59!

If you have Amazon Prime you can borrow it for free! I found it to be quite interesting...sort of a unique combination of a Greek family's history and the story of Jill...a detective and a horrible crime she investigates. Plus tons of descriptions of amazing Greek foods...stuffed peppers and bread and tomatoes and honey drizzled stuffed French toast...yum!

"Nestled below the skyline of Detroit you’ll find Greektown, a few short blocks of colorful bliss, warm people and Greek food. In spite of growing up immersed in the safety of her family and their rich culture, Jill Zannos doesn’t fit in. A Detroit homicide detective, she manages to keep one foot planted firmly in the traditions started by her grandparents, while the other navigates the most devastated neighborhoods in the city she can’t help but love. She is a no nonsense workaholic with no girlfriends, an odd boyfriend who refuses to grow up, and an uncanny intuition, inherited from her mystic grandmother that acts as her secret weapon to crime solving success. Her story winds around tales of her family and their secret laden history, while she investigates the most despicable murder of her career.
The Greeks of Beaubien Street is a modern tale of a family grounded in old world, sometimes archaic, tradition as they seek acceptance in American society. They could be any nationality, but they are Greek."

Totally fascinated with these books...probably because of the covers...

Why do I love books so much?

It's a Fishy Friday dinner for us...I am so hungry for sushi and/or Tuna Tataki!

Yum!

Nails and toes today...my girls will be alone...hopefully to bond!

Have an awesome Friday!

  1. Most of those books are new to me. Your girls probably cuddle the whole time you're away.

  2. Check their nails when you get home. They might be giving each other mani-pedis while you're away!

  3. So this is the second time they've been on their own now right? And no flying fur!

Sushi sounds really good. It's 80 degrees. Don't feel like eating too much when it is this warm.

  6. I think that it's like siblings who get along better when the parents aren't there...the rivalry disappears with no one to watch or try to get attention from....

That Greek book looks very good....
