Mums The Word!!!

Out with the old...in with the new...dead dried up summer flowers gone...bright yellow mums are the replacements!

And I am so proud to say that my ducks/geese are all in a row! They are on their way to a nap near the shady part of the deck!

I made peach jam today for the first time ever!

Tada!

Enough for two pieces of toast!

I guess I should have quadrupled my recipe?

  1. We have tons of geese around here - they're fun to watch, but they sure do make a mess everywhere. I hope the jam wasn't too much work!

    1. That's the bad thing about geese...and it was a lot of work for that little bit!

  5. Beautiful front entrance with the pretty yellow mums, the deck is awesome and so inviting...as far as the peach jams, Patty...just wondering what recipe you followed?...even for the least amt. you should have ended up with at least a full jar! In my case I should make just a small amount of peach jam which I love so much, but at $1. ea. peach at our supermarket... it would cost me at least $20. to make a full batch...so I will stick with your tiny portion and enjoy my toast!

  6. I don't feel so bad then. I did peach preserves a couple weeks ago, and somehow I ended up with half the amount as the recipe that I was using. Do the peaches like to play tricks on us newbies?

  9. What jam recipe would turn out such a small amount of product?? I love homemade jam. My fave is Marmalade with seedless Blackberry a strong second.

  10. Glad you can now watch your ducks in a row from your deck. :) I have never made jam- so I think you did an excellent job. Better to make less the first time in case you need to change anything! Mums look fab.
