I Should Have Known It Wouldn't Work...

Lucy knew...

I admit defeat.

I am incapable of reading more than one book at a time.

I am even incapable of leaving books in separate rooms.

I tried.

But before I went to bed...the scattered bookmarked books were back in a tidy stack...

to be read when I finish Elizabeth George's new book...

which is the perfect book for me on this cold wet icy rainy day.

I am obviously not as freewheeling and flexible as I perceived myself to be at this time yesterday.

So sad...

  4. I am right there with you! I can't have multiple books going at once- except in rare instances when one is for adults and the other is for middle grade kids. Also- I like to have my books in my "reading spot". Then- I always know where it is and I can get it and read somewhere else if I want. Always good to try new thing!

  5. I am not good at juggling books either. Usually, if I start a new book while still reading another book, I will never go back to the first book.

  6. Those of us who are a bit obsessive/compulsive like following a plan...lol

    An orderly plan.

You gave it your best shot....

Sometimes I will read a different book at night...but mostly I read one at a time.

  7. That didn't last long! :) I can't read more than one book at a time, either. I get so engrossed in books. How could someone possibly have more than one going at a time? It's like cheating. ;)

  10. I wonder...are you the type of person who can read, watch TV, and carry on a conversation comfortably? I'm not, really. I prefer doing one thing at a time. Although I'm always thinking of writing no matter what I'm doing!

  12. Lol!! We all have to do what works for us :) Either way, you're reading through more books each year than I am - by far!

  13. I can plow through books one at a time, Jane, it's more than one that throws me...I am much wiser after my brief experiment!!!

  14. While you are reading you newest books, and the popular books, I am juggling 3 cookbooks at a time trying to decide which of the three (library cookbooks) I want to order on Amazon, instead of wasting color ink in the printer for just about every recipe I like, it's cheaper to buy the book!
Have not read any novel in a while...I should check out your book list! I'm sure, Lucy is not a distraction for you, Patty...or is she?
LOL she is so darn cute:DDD
