This Book Sounds So Good...

Isn't that a chalkboard?
Doesn't that look like a classroom?
I love books that take place in around on or at schools!!!
I love haunted boarding school books...I love mean girls in boarding school books.   I love vampires going to school posing as normal kids books.
I love headmistresses and headmasters...and teachers in books.
Love them all...
Snape
Mr. Terupt
Junie B. Jones long suffering kindergarten teacher
Miss Honey from Matilda
Miss Nelson from Miss Nelson Is Missing
Mrs. Jewels from Sideways Stories From Wayside School
Mr. Kotter
Miss Frizzle from The Magic Schoolbus
The Little House On The Prairie teacher
And now...
Bonnie Pinkwater from the book pictured above.
She is described as a math teacher on a mission.  I think this is a series.  Every review I have read raves about this book.  This book is about a missing student and seems to have a bit of everything in it...strong characters, lots of suspense and tons of mystery.
I should put it on my Goodreads or Amazon wishlists.
Or I could just buy it.
What would you do if you were me?

This Is The Time Of Year When...

It is hot outside.
Hot and sunny and summery.
But...
I am thinking about cooler crisper days.
Long sleeves, a hoodie, boots.
My clothes blogs are loaded with hints of layering and what to wear on a cool morning.
I am itching to buy stuff.
Boots from Uggs.
Tunics from Free People.
Long sleeved Blue Life oversized tees from Singer 22.
Fall clothes appear to be amazing.  Soft and comfy and warm.
I want them.
I love oversized anything.
Long long sleeves to pull down over your wrists...tights...leggings...boots!!!
Scarves to wrap up in.
Red lipstick.
A cool cap to pull on.
Mittens.
I do so love mittens!!!
I yearn for soups on cold fall mornings.
Chili...
Football...even football.
I even bought a beautiful orange squash today.
But...alas...not just yet...
It is still hot outside and not even close to Labor Day.
But I am ready for cooler weather.
I am ready to trade in my flip flops for a rugged sturdy pair of boots...

I Have Done Some Of These Things...

Thank you Shelf Awareness for this delightful book.  I actually had it preordered for my Kindle and it came in the mail from Shelf Awareness.  I can't wait to read it.  It takes place in the year 2083 and involves a world without chocolate and a mystery and I think a murder.  Click here for the summary on Goodreads Plus I was able to cancel my Kindle preorder...sometimes it is so nice to read a real book.
We are barely an hour by train to NYC...my friends often just hop on a train and go to dinner or the theater and pop back home again.  Den and I always say we are going to do this...just for the day...but we tend not to.  It seems easier to at least spend the night.  But I think we will try to do a day trip this year.  I will let you know.

I fell in love with this YouTube video.  I love The Met...I love this chocolate shop and I am determined to find this church.
Enjoy!!!

Do you think you would day trip to NYC more often if you were only an hour away?

Too Many Tomatoes?

I see the most amazing basket of beautiful tomatoes...plum tomatoes, Brandwine tomatoes ands sweet juicy orange and yellow tomatoes.

I also see a busy Monday.
I am going to make Tomato Pie and Fire Roasted Gazpacho.
The tomato pie calles for 2 1/2 pounds of tomatoes but I am going to use 3 pounds.
The gazpacho calles for 4 pounds of tomatoes but I am going to use 5 pounds.
I will still have pounds and pounds of tomatoes left.
I am going to use this bad boy for a tomato sandwich for lunch.
Another pound gone.

I have tried a reasonable discussion but according to Lucy...
cats don't do tomatoes.

Any takers for the leftovers?
I will even throw in a few dozen peppers and zucchini!!!
