I Love Setting Goals For Other People...Especially My Husband.

This goal is short and sweet and simple...he will read at least one book a month or else!!!  I am referring to my husband...I will drag us up to bed early and literally prop him up in bed with his Kindle...I will nag him relentlessly until he finally finishes The Kitchen House and begins reading The Hunger Games...I will make sure his Kindle is charged at all times.  I want him to complete 12 books in 2011...that is a book a month...don't you think this is a reachable goal?  He loves to read...but always has an excuse...too tired, sports, work out...I will strap his Kindle to him if necessary,  darn it!!!  I will make him an obsessive reader...I will!!!  I will set a timer and force him to read for at least 20 minutes a day.  There is so much for him to read...how will he ever catch up to me?

  1. My husband doesn't read many books, and definitely not fiction. He doesn't have time with work.

I make up for him. :D

  2. I know...my husband is so exhausted he falls asleep the minute he turns on his Kindle...he does most of his reading in airports and on planes...

  3. Too cute! Something happened this year, and as I kept passing along books that I know he would like, he's been reading more and more. Now, he would prefer to read over watching TV. I'm not certain what happened or how I did it, but he's averaging at least two books a month. If I can do it, you can too! Good luck!

  4. Thanks, Michelle...that is what I am going to try...he loves it...it is just the time and the fact that he falls asleep...

  5. Good luck to you both, Patty! My husband used to read (for "fun") much more than he does now. These days he finishes the newspapers at night ... then often zones out to a football game. He travels with the e-reader and is more successful then (but we miss him at home!)

  7. My Hub doesn't read. It irks me to no end. He will try if I push him, but try means one page and then the TV is back on.
